Do we prefer Will in the booth or on the field?

Field. Always field no matter who it is.

Field, booth, or stands......It doesn't matter to me as long as he is the Auburn DC.

On the field. Face to face interaction with the players is a must, especially on defense.

On the field. You remember those Ds AU used to have in the not so distant past, that hit like they were trying to kill? They were coached from the sidelines. The eye in the sky doesn't do much to motivate players in the moment. Let the minions sit in the booth and relay the info.

Need him on the field. We need to hear him do this very often.

Muschamp gave up more yards than EJ against Bama.
672 of them. By all means, let's give him a blank check.

One bad defensive game vs. a half season stretch of really bad games where the least amount of points scored by an SEC team was 31.

Ok, Georgia Southern. He shut them down last year.

Florida's offenses have been so abysmal that their D is basically on the field around the clock. They get wore out. What do you think Bama did? Muschamp simply didn't pan out as a HC, same as Chizik. Muschamp has been known for being a good DC however, and it's hard to deny the results of his defenses even with the clusterfrick that is the Florida offense.

Why is that different than Johnson? He was a very good DC, shitty HC too. His offense hasn't always put him him in the best situations either.

That may have been the case before, but the offense has been playing like a bunch of animals the latter half of the season while the defense has looked like hot garbage. Additionally, it would be one thing if the defense actually improved or at least played as well as they did earlier in the season. They actually regressed, and they regressed BAD. Oh, and the "adjustments". Leaving Mincy in 1 on 1 coverage with Cooper is just freaking stupid. How on God's green earth did Johnson think that was a good idea?! Kick in the sheer lack of discipline and technique by the D, and I can't defend EJ. I defended him earlier in the season, but I can't now.

Because it hasn't been said enough:
OVER 600 MFING YARDS, 44 POINTS, AND AUBURN STILL FREAKING LOST!
Johnson was gone the moment that game ended if not before.

I think I just borderline-melted.

Ellis is a solid coach just didn't work out. Once teams found our weakness, seem route between deep thirds we were ruined. Ellis never was able to adjust.

If nothing else we need new blood to get the defense going. Just started to feel stagnate. It can happen to coaches

We scored 7 on UGA. We had 36 yards on Samford in the 1st quarter.
