Was Saban asked why they didn't play a deep safety on the a Sammie Coates TD before half? Just odd that they would leave Eddie Jackson on an island. ..odd call to not have a safety over the top

I was wondering all night why we weren't giving our CBs more safety help. We started to figure out their run game so it was really puzzling why we kept leaving our CBs by themselves to get beat deep.

I think first priority was stopping the run. We saw Nick Perry twice make tackles on the RB in the backfield. Of course, this doesn't explain the TD before half. No excuse for that.

IDK, but Jackson CANNOT get beat deep in that situation. If they had the ball on our 30 I get it. But you make them drive on you and hopefully hold them to 3.

This. I think we took our chances on the long ball and Marshall not being accurate...we lost on that gamble but it kept their run game from killing us. I think they forgot, missed, whatever on that particular play.

Jackson got beat deep at least 3 times last night.

Yep. He challenged our CBs to cover one on one, and EJ failed for the most part.

Our DBs look in the backfield far too much. I remember watching Champ Bailey he never looked at the QB at all.
