I hope people realize Iona is good. They'll be in the NCAAT this year like 2012 and 2013.

Oddly enough they built their schedule around Arkansas in the OOC it seems, they've played Wake Forest, Delaware State, and North Texas...just like us.

@Wake 85-81
@North Texas 78-58
Delaware State 126-76

They did randomly lose by 13 to a 5-1 Wofford.

North Texas Head Basketball Coach Tony Benford "I wanna see that game (Arkansas vs. Iona)

After our game, we struggled badly with NTU and Iona just blew them out by 20.

Sounds like that bitch arse NTU coach thinks Iona has a chance to beat us in Bud Walton. Good luck with that, Gaels.

LOL@Gaels.

Well I am excitied now. I have not been able to pay one bit of attention to basketball yet this year. All of our games have had bad timing for my schedule thus far. I hope I can watch this one.

All they care about is the paid attendance I'm sure.

Actual attendance was probably what, 7K?

I went back and watched the North Texas game.

Hard to blow a team out when they shoot as well as they did. 10-20 3pt 26-58 FG.

At first glance I was upset, but the mean green played well. Definitely could beat some good teams.

They were hitting contested shots, it isn't "bad defense" or "poor execution" or whatever you want to blame it on, it was a team hitting tough shots.

It happens.

Its also hard to blow a team out that keeps the tempo of the game where they want it, but they ended up being up by 20 with a couple minutes to go anyway.

Iona is a different challenge, UNT has decent guards and good guard play, Iona has great guard play and presents a problem of 4 players at any time on the court able to hit a three, all five able to handle the ball.

Look past the names of the team and you will see these teams are playing the style of ball, centered around guard play, that is what wins in the NCAA tourney. Good tests to start a season off having to play against teams that play like this instead of scheduling teams that you have the advantage on and easily roll at home.

Arkansas is a 13 point favorite today. My $ would go on the Gaels to beat that spread today.

I don't trust Madden will be selfish with the ball and jack up bad shots that will prevent us from winning by double digits, if we can beat this team at all.
