OK , so we lose 3/4 of our secondary,CTG for 3/4 of the season,
Marshall for the whole season and we replaced perhaps the greatest
UGA QB ever. And now we have a good chance to finish 11-2
and perhaps a top 5 finish.

You wouldn't have taken it back in August?

So you don't think our disciplinary and drug testing procedures
DON'T put us at a competitive disadvantage ?

Never made any type of an excuse regarding Jan Kemp BTW

Yeah...I'm not sure why you've peeled off on me because I was agreeing with you that Jan Kemp was a non-issue. Shitting the bed twice a year is our problem...and that's coaching.

You can still not want to fire the coaching staff and at the same time recognize that they will stink it up at least two games a year. It takes some practice to hold and support opposing ideas but you can get there.

Blaming the drug policy though is a little weak. Poor motivation and planning let us down against SC and FL....both teams we should have beaten.

Maybe, but I would bet you if we had JHC for SC or UF
we stand a good chance of winning at least one of em.
And I'll also bet ya that both JHC and Tigga Mathews
become "model citizens" at UL and AU and probable
all conference players. It's just what we have to live with.

I'm also hearing rumblings that 2 of our big time freshman will
be "lucky to be on our roster come next August" if they don't get
their shite together ASAP and I don't have much hope for either. I
would doubt they would be facing little if any problems had they'd
gone to AU,LSU etc

Can't disagree with you though on our mental state for UF and
the coaches should have had em more focused.

I think a lot of the UGA fan base would take 11-2 in August almost every year....and that is why we are perennially 11-2 or 10-3 and never sniffing a national title. Expectations at UGA are not what they are at Alabama.....11-2is food enough at Georgia.

again, incontext 11-2 is damn good. We had a new QB, new D-coor, our best player will miss half the season, and our secondary was complete shite before the season.

Now considering who are losses were against, yeah it sucks, but at the end of the day, 11-2 (if we get there) looks pretty nice to recruicts, and should to our fans as well.

now anything under 11-2 would be disappointing imo

FIFY

If having a "new" QB is an excuse for dropping games and missing out on your first goal of the year (win the East) then you should NEVER....EEEEEEEVVVVVVAAAAAAR!....start a QB that will only have one year to play.

Never.

But...he gave us the best chance to win. If the coaches expected that he would be good for a couple of losses because he was "new", then they both recruited poorly and chose wrongly.

If starting Mason this year automatically qualified UGA for two losses when compounded by other deficiencies, the proper thing to do would have been to start Ramsey or Bauta, so as to not have back-to-back years of the new QB curse.

I don't wanna hear the new QB bullshite. Bitch about the coaching, because that is what it all comes down to.

I think the team most comparable to us this year is easily LSU. Both teams lost 5 offensive starters, including a great quarterback, along with 4 defensive starters. We still have to win today, but if you would have told any LSU or UGA fan they would have been 10-2, they would be pleasantly surprised. LSU is 8-4. Is that all on Miles? I would argue that this was a really well coached season by Coach Richt because no one would have guessed we had the talent to win every game we played in before the year.

Yes, we had 1 1/2 poorly coached games, and that isn't acceptable, but looking at the season as a whole I don't see how people are disappointed.

Yea, man. Guys on the Georgia sports board are why our defensive ends got worked in the Florida game.

Jesus....I swear some of you guys get off more criticizing other UGA fans than you do anything else. You're like a bunch of buzzards circling around waiting to swoop down and pick on the carcus of other UGA fans who are pissed about the performance of the team and/or coaching.

We just watched a shitty Mizzou team beat us out because we couldn't get the job done against two teams we should have beaten. Some of us think that was due to poor coaching and preparation. It doesn't mean everyone wants to fire everybody....or we all expected to be undeafeated. We're just pissed and unlike you vultures we direct our frustration towards the coaches and others in charge who are directly responsible. Not Jan Kemp, the refs, the drug policy, other fans, or whatever.

If we beat Tech today everyone will be fine.

Prior to the 2013 season, I absolutely expected 2014 to be a good-to-great season for the Dawgs. Now, I didn't for see all the dismissals, but our recruiting was (supposedly) good enough to fill those roster spots left vacant by graduates.

Match that with an EXTREMELY favorable schedule (the best we will see for some years), and I was willing to give Richt a shot.

Now UGA has to wait another couple of years? Three? Next? Four?

When does it all come together? When does UGA win all of the games that they should, and play like mean-arse motherfrickers in the games they shouldn't? When does Mark Richt get "lucky"? When does GOD reward all of his good deeds? Oh, frick me...that's right....he's storing up treasure in heaven. Goddamn it....

Did I think we'd win the SEC? Not really but I thought we would win the East... As anyone who follows college football knows, this is about the worst the Eastern division has ever looked. I was pretty sure that with a 5th-year senior at QB, insane depth at RB, returning depth at WR, and a front-7 on defense that should be good enough to compensate for a patchwork secondary, Georgia would be playing in Atlanta next week.

If that’s so crazy then I honestly have no clue how to gauge my expectations for this program. I mean, for fricks sake, the team representing the East next week is a team that we beat 34-0 … on their own fricking field. But some people think it’s irrational for some fans to be disappointed that we missed out on Atlanta … again...

Now with all that said, can't believe I took the time to type all that out on my sons phone while I sit at our tailgate in Athens... FML, I'm a bad fan...

I expected at least a season to turn the defense around and anticipated losses to SC and Mizzou and was worried about Clemson. When we beat Clemson and SC looked average at best we got our hopes up....

...which is the kiss of death as a UGA fan.

The expectation is to win the East every year. Especially with Tenn and Florida being dogshit lately.

You are then expected to win the SEC CG 50% of the time. Its unreasonable to expect to win that game 100% of the time.

So if you only win the East every other year, and you only win half of those trips to ATL, then you should have 2 or 3 SEC Championship Titles every decade.

That's not unreasonable.

We have 2 SECC's in 14 years.

Not good enough.

That just made me realize that next year will be ten years since our last SEC championship.

Now I'm depressed.
