Hypothetical: If Tech fired Johnson and offered Bobo, do you think he'd take it?

On the one hand, I think he'd become a huge pain in the arse as the HC at Tech. On the other hand, I don't think Tech has the stones to offer a lifelong UGA guy, nor am I sure that Bobo would ever take that job.

Yes... It would be a good start in a power 5 conference.

Not sure. It would be a really bad situation for him with the massive personnel differences between the triple option and a pro style system. They'd have a few seasons where they went like 2-10 until they got a QB, OLs, RBs, WRs, TEs, etc.

It would be a bad fit imo. It's a big enough job for him to take though.

I could actually see him taking the Tech job until Richt retired and then turning around for the UGA job after that.

Thought this would be the scenario with Ga Southern last year but fortunately for us it never happened.

The thing is, Tech is about to extend a coach for going 9-2 and backing into a conference title game. The same coach has a 1-5 record against their biggest rival. I think Bobo could get by with a few losing seasons over there; expectations aren't exactly grueling

There's a really big difference between that and what I'm talking about.

I think they'd be 2014 Vandy level bad for a few years.

Unquestionably not.

Bobo is probably the 2nd most "GEORGIA" guy on staff only behind Joe T, and that's probably just because joe's old as hell and has 2 other lettermen as his father and son.

Bobo went to UGA, set UGA records, has an all time classic comeback against tech in 97, was on the field then ran back to our bench to grab his helmet before reporting back to the field during the 93 tech fight, etc. There is no way that he would go to tech and have to rebuild and re-recruit their ENTIRE offense. Not to mention he doens't strike me as a downtown livin kinda guy. He also has about 12 kids he'd have to uproot and move schools.

I'm sure at some point bobo will want to take a HC job, but he's certainly proven enough to where he can get a pretty good one. It wouldn't be tech.

Given his recruiting prowess, I think he could stave off the heat with the "rebuilding" line assuming he were to win a few key in-state recruiting battles (something Tech hasn't done since... Morgan Burnett, I wanna say?). Tech fans feed off of hope, not wins.

Maybe, but Bobo's recruiting prowess is built off recruiting mainly South Georgia kids to go to UGA. He's great at it, but I question how successful someone could ever be at recruiting South Georgia kids to GT. It's just not an option that most of them would consider with other options, even with Bobo at GT. He'd probably get a few kids a year, but nothing like what he's been able to do at UGA.

I just don't see the Bobo model working at GT. I think he could potentially be really good as a HC at UGA, Aub, FSU, USCe, Clemson, Bama, etc. Not so sure about Tech.

How did we back in? Going 6-2 in Conference play gives any team a good chance of going to their conf championship. Would uga not back in If missouri loses?

no, you did not back in, in fact, y'all have had a hell of a year

beating the shite out of Clemson validates your division title

the Tech game scares me, y'all are halfway decent and certainly "due" - plus, we have shown that we are not afraid to shite the bed in a big game

hope y'all beat Forced Sex university no matter what happens this Saturday

Absolutely not. Heck of a lot more likely he would take the Florida job. But Florida may have had it's fill of former UGA players for coaches.

We handily beat both Mizzou AND Arkansas, whom we hope embarrass the last tigers to the SEC party in their own house. (Where they play like hammered dog shite, and yet they rock out on the road. Go figure).

But you also have to realize that duke still had 2 acc games left after we finished our conference schedule. So in reality they just had not had enough games to show their true position in the conference. Uga needed florida to lose several sec games in order to get in. Florida just happened to lose those games earlier in the season than duke did. It is the same thing just different timing.
