Nominees
SEC nominees include:
Lane Kiffin - Alabama
Robb Smith - Arkansas
Geoff Collins - Mississippi St.
Dave Steckel - Missouri
Dave Womack - Ole Miss
Former SEC notables include Todd Grantham and Manny Diaz.
I'm shocked Mike Bobo wasn't nominated, but the SEC coaches that were nominated definitely deserve it IMO. Steckel has been the best out of all the SEC nominees in my opinion.
As of right now I have Tom Herman or Brent Venables as the favorite. Thoughts?

Mike Bobo is a huge oversight. It's pretty hard to understand how they missed that one.

Glad Smith is there. One hell of a hire.

Deserves it. Our D was one of the worst last year, and in one year turned it into one of the best.

He had one pretty egregious error on the season, and it was in a game where we scored 35 points. I don't get it either.

A year in which we set yet another school record with an average of 40 points per game (all with a first year QB in Mason and without Gurley for four games) and Bobo doesn't get mentioned.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable.

I could aaaaaaaabsolutely be wrong, but I think we were on pace to set some sort of SEC record for points. Either per game, or total, or something or other. Again definitely not positive on that though.

Fun fact: Bobo's offense hung 45 on two DCs who made the cut.

I think they should have one from each conference and then a playoff of the winners voted on by the fans.

What a joke. Georgia put up 45 on both Venables (Clemson) and Smith (Arkansas). Which just so happens to be the most points both of those teams have given up all year. And also put up 34 on steckel (mizzou), which is also the most points mizzou has given up in a game this year.

I understand your thought process, but that would reward the bigger schools/conferences, and not necessarily the best coaches.
Bobo also scored 34 on the other DC nominated. As much crap as he gets from some fans, he is a really good coach. It's truly unbelievable that some people want him to be fired.

All SEC? Figured they'd have squeezed some other conferences in there.

This is out of the 40 coaches nominated. I just thought with this being an SEC related site I would only include the names of those coaches for SEC schools. All the other nominees are in the link I posted.

Good. I'll click link.
Smith will probably win it so all the homers can clap real loud and call the hogs at the banquet.

I've been saying for a while now that it's his name. Just saying Bobo sounds like "Bozo" which automatically gives you the inclination that he must be an idiot. If his name was something generic like "Mike Roberts" or "Mike Patterson" then I'd bet a hefty amount that he wouldn't catch as much shite.

seriously tho he's done an amazing job this year, it wouldn't be unwarranted if he won.
