I'm a bit upset that Hugh hasn't put the UF rumors to bed. It seems to be an unnecessary distraction on Egg Bowl week.

Don't blame him. Blame his agent.

How many would take a denial seriously? It's going to be out there regardless of what he says.

I remember saying the same thing about Mullen. Seems easy for them to just put it to rest.

Makes no sense to put it to bed when he is still in negotiations about his contract. It is leverage. We all want to make more. It is what it is. Dude ain't going anywhere. Especially not to allow someone else come in with the most talent in Ole Miss history have a big year or two and get the big gig and the success.

We should do what it takes to keep him in Oxford. He's brought more good to this program than it has seen in a very very long time and it's not just a single good year, he's building a foundation with solid recruits to be a contender in most years. I would be very upset if he did indeed leave. We don't have all of the off-the-field crap that has plagued our team for just about every year that I can remember.

How do you know if they are rumors or not? It wouldn't be all that shocking to believe UF really did offer him. I highly doubt he even looks that direction unless it would be a substantial amount of money. I think he has y'all right where he wants to make a run with future talent at Atlanta. Next year might be way too interesting to just leave y'all in the rear view mirror.

These three in this order:

Mark Dantonio
Doc Holliday
Rich Rodriguez

Or if we really want to get into the Ole Pi$$ spirit, I want a staff comprised of these people in whatever order they choose:
Melvin
Trooper
Garner
Victor Conte
Alex Rodriguez
Ryan Braun
Dickie Scruggs
Jeff Gillooly
Cyrus from that show Scandal
The snake from the bible
and anyone else that is in the sleezin/heppin business.

Think about it:
1. We would never get in trouble because the things that staff would do be so much worse than SMU in the 80s that it would be an insult to give us the Death Penalty. They would be scheming for years on what to do with us and we'll be 10-10-20 titles on their titties by then.

2. The members of ED already think our coaches are splitting time between coaching and being defense lawyers for Aaron Hernandez/leaking pictures of Jennifer Lawrence's snatch/inventing Grindr/passing executive orders on immigration. Could you imagine if our actual staff was as sleazy as they think they are? The heads would literally explode, then we have no more ED, no more Engie, and all that's left is delicious cheese covered in blood.

3. Our cops' palms would be so greased by the coaching staff, they'd be driving around with Bentley squad cars. Do you know what that would do for our rep as tHotS?

Slam.

Dunk.

Yep ... and I would be ok ... but if Freeze did leave us it would be a massive stab in the back. Boy I would melt!

He needs to put this to bed. How can the team be "all in" if he's not "all in?"

Hugh can't go to Florida. How bad would it look if your HC favored the preferred food of your mascot?

All BS aside, he's an OM boy. He ain't leaving but it is quite the distraction. It's also bad for recruiting but it's part of the business. He's worth more $$ and is about to get it right there..
