Fayetteville's bare scene sucks. There is one good bar. 21st amendment. That's it. Bentonville' dining scene sucks outside of Tusk N Trotter. They all try to hard to be unique. Table Mesa is terrible.

So your biggest city is Little Rock? pop < 200k. That's a decent sized suburb in STL or KC. Your whole state has about the same number of people as the STL metro. Why? Poor soil? Dumb initial settlers that didn't know how to organize? Geography? Lack of rivers with good shipping lanes? You have the Mississippi down your east side so that excuse doesn't fly. I guess its nice to have a whole state of backwoods for good deer hunting. Anything else noteworthy?

Rich in natural resources. Abundant timber, oil, fresh water, agriculture, wildlife etc. Could be self sustaining if need be. Largest off Wall Street financial firm in the world resides here in Little Rock. You eat chicken mf'er? Probably bought it from us. Most likely that turkey you're about to eat. Cheese dip...yep. You can thank us for that too! And Holiday Inn. We don't want people moving in. We got this.

Fact: Guy on the right, lighting it, is from Arkansas.

Fact: Guy with his pants hanging down is from ATL.

I saw on twitter a couple days ago a pretty cool chart that showed this year, for the first time ever, craft beer (small regional breweries and brew pubs) produced more beer than AB.

Very proud of that statistic.

I don't really like craft beers. Can't drink Abita Amber, Sam Adams and such. Only Abita beers I can actually drink are Abita Light, and Restoration Ale. I don't drink beer much, but I prefer Bud, which is cheaper than craft beers anyways.
To each his own, but I will drink Bud.
Eta: Shiner Bock isn't bad, but still prefer Bud.

Arkansas has long been the wilderness. Settlers moving west tended to go through the areas with the least resistance, the places where they wouldn't find any danger.

Even today, Missouri continues the legacy as somewhere you pass through on the way to something better.
