I thought you had to graduate to get the aggie ring? Or am I mistaken in thinking that he's wearing one of the sacred rings in that pic?

you are eligible to get your ring at 90hrs.

He was there 3 years. 15 hours per semester and anything he did during the summer (as most players do) puts him above 90 hours.

He definitely had 90 hours. I don't think he's graduated but is pretty close, I might be mistaken though

Do aggies take offense when someone wears the ring without having a degree? Like if someone came in for an interview wearing the ring, as a fellow aggie wouldn't you get ticked off if you later found out that they never graduated from there?

Not trolling, legitimately curious.
TAMU is not an easy school to get in to and a lot pride is held in that ring, so I assumed people wouldn't like others wearing them without actually graduating. I'm not talking about Manziel in particular but more in regards to the every day joe. That pic was just what initially spurred my curiosity

most people start wearing their ring without yet having a degree. i can't imagine that there are too may people out there that made it to 90hrs that did not end up graduating. it would be shitty if someone was wearing their ring around 10yrs after failing out at 90+hrs. that kind of stunt wouldn't win you any points at an interview with an aggie, but i dont think that anyone would get riled up enough over it to do anything serious about it. afterall, that person would have met the minimum requirements for it.
in johnny's case, he has done more for the school than 99% of people with a ring, so IDGAF what he does. besides, many athletes end up finishing their degree later in life.

I'm a tshirt fan that was accepted to TAMU. I was having an interview once and they asked about my sports teams and mentioned Aggie football (seeing their ring full well. ) He asked about the lack of ring and started looking theough my resume and I corrected him quickly that I was a tshirt.
He said he'd met a few people interviewing with a ring that weren't grads. And even WTAMU, TAMUKville, or TAMUCommerce applicants with rings that tried to pass as TAMU College Station grads.
I didn't get the job even with my honesty.
