2015 Sam Vaughn will need Big Time receivers

Will he have any?
I'm confident Big Jeb will blossom into a Big Time tight end, but I have not been impressed with Reggie Davis, Shakenneth Williams, or Towns. And McKenzie is a ball dropper. Once a ball dropper, always a ball dropper. He needs to be relegated to kick returns and jet sweep duty.
This Chigbu kid coming in is supposed to be big time.
Scott-Wesley should return, he can perhaps be big time again. If Marshall can't get his shite together in the backfield, perhaps he can make a transition to be a Big-Time receiver. I'm convinced that God doesn't want Malcome Mitchell to play football.

Yea I'm worried about it too. I do think McKenzie can get better at holding on to it, MoMass used to drop a ton of balls in 06 but got it together after that. And Jeb is gonna be so damn good, he has quietly had a really good year for a true freshman. If Mitchell stays healthy, he could really break out next season. Marshall seems like he'd make a good WR but not in the traditional sense.
Losing Bennett and Conley will hurt us a lot more though, hopefully Jeb keeps stepping up and becomes a reliable target on 3rd downs to ease that somewhat.
Does anyone know what's happening with Langley? I thought I read where Richt said he was kind of practicing with the D but wasn't being switched to defense full time.

Poor kid. Him and Tramel Terry getting squandered.

Malcolm Mitchell, Justin Scott Wesley, Reggie Davis, and Isaih McKenzie will be the front four next year. That looks pretty good to me. Reggie Davis hasn't gotten many touches this year because the ball hasn't been thrown to him. I can't remember him dropping a single pass this year. McKenzie on the other hand seems to have butter fingers.

Dawgs should recruit WR-TE tweeners but WTF do I know

Plus we still have Big Jeb Blazevich and Jay Rome.

Jackson Harris 6-6 250, if Big Jeb doesn't carry extra weight the way Lily wants him to, then Big Jeb can be the Mike Evans style tweener and Harris can fill out to be the full-sized TE.

I also think Shakenneth Williams will be good. Van Jefferson looks like a polished receiver already, just needs to add about 20 pounds. Our receiving corps is in good shape for next year.

Good isn't going to cut it. We need someone to be Big Time.
Do any names on our roster jump out to you and scream "First Round Draft Pick" ?
Every team has 6 foot 2 lanky kids that can run like a cheetah.
We need a game changer for Sam Vaughn.
I don't see one.

I can't disagree with this, but I think McKenzie could be that guy. I would rather Chubb and Michel be our game changers though. We are a much better team when our backs drive our offense with a game manager at quarterback and serviceable receivers. I have no worries if Malcolm Mitchell and Justin Scott-Wesley come back to form.

I thought our WR's would be one of the better units in the country this year
and we had some big play capability in JSW,Rumph,Davis and Mitchell
but all seem to have issues (as usual) and Tibbs is ALWAYS listed in the
2 deep but rarely sees any action.
Let's hope SOME of these issues don't pop up again in '16 and we get
some big time plays out of the WR and slot position.
Wonder how Rumph will do in the combine and draft.

When did Bauta win the starting role?

I'd say about when CMR has had him #2 on the depth chart the entire season

Yep, we definitely need more receivers like Blazevich, big and powerful and fast for their size. McKenzie is too small for a team I would build. I want tall receivers with big hands who can go up and take the ball away from defenders. Agree that McKenzie should remain a kick return specialist although I really don't want a ball dropper back there either. And while I would like to see us find ways to get Marshall out is space, after sustaining that devastating injury on a pass/setup for the kill from Murray, I imagine Keith would be gun-shy in a full time receiving role.
