I think Henry would be better for us if we ran less zone and more power. If he gets downhill quickly, he is hard to tackle in the secondary, and he is good at falling forward so long as he isn't hit from the backside. He is never going to make someone miss then get his momentum back, though. Doesn't have the quick feet for it.
Jones has a lot of what Yeldon does well for us. He's an exciting guy to watch. I think he fits our schemes and OL personnel better this year than Henry, but if we get a little more physical up front, I expect we'll see some big numbers by Henry next season.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say since both have been on campus for two years and have been to several dozen practices, hundred of weigh training sessions, countless film sessions and a similar number of position meetings that the coaches have the depth chart slotted appropriately.
Jones may end up being better, but he is not better as of today.

Henry is having a good season but he is not the elite back that lots of us expected him to be. Drake is elite and could be the fastest back in the conference.

I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I think I probably want to fight you for it.

If drake can hang onto the ball I want him first. Don't care who is 2nd string

Henry reminds me of a better version of Jimmy Johns at RB. Decent player there, but just doesn't really have the lower body strength or vision to be elite. Hope he changes my mind over the next year or two. Jones looks like he has incredible vision and burst...if he puts on about 10 more pounds of muscle before next year he could be really special. I hope to see him some this Saturday against the barn, honestly.

I would love to see Fowler smashing between the tackles this weekend. That guy knows how to hit the middle.

I am not going to act like I know the whole situation, but it seems as though we have under-utilized Fowler in the run game this year. I would love to see him get some carries against AU.

I remember prior to him injuring his knee that he was a really good ball carrier. If he hadn't fumbled against UT he'd probably have seen his carries climb a bit more with Yeldon taking it easy. I'd love to see a steady dose of the run between Yeldon, Henry, Jones and Fowler this weekend. If our guys hold on to the ball THEY CAN'T TACKLE.

Threads like this which seemingly can't take into account the differences in situations give me headaches.
Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. You have no idea if he is or isn't because THEY AREN'T PLAYING THE SAME GAMES.

And last year Henry was greater than Yeldon.

Henry's YPC will disagree with most of you.

Comparing the established back in Yeldon to the underwhelming Henry is silly.
I didn't jump on the Henry train after the Sugar Bowl.

Going into next season am I a lot less comfortable with our rb situation compared with the past 6/7 years.

I agree.
BUT, I genuinely believe that Scarbrough is a special talent, and might end up being the starter by season's end.

This thread is full of over-exaggerations which are mainly due to ignoring the facts.
I still can't believe the same people who get mad LSU fans bash Ingram are heavily critical of Henry when he suffers from the same thing Ingram does.
The truth is Henry is a really good RB. Is he perfect? No. He is weaker between the tackles if he doesn't get good blocking. We have struggled running blocking this season so it has affected his ability to get penetration in the middle and leads to him panicking (when we do have a slight hole) and bouncing outside; which is his strength.
These RBs (Yeldon, Henry) don't even get enough carries to really get themselves going most games. While Gurley, Chubb, Amir and M.Gordon are getting 20+, these guys usually are well under that.
My main point? Some perspective is needed instead of the usual over the top reaction to everything.
Remember the over the top reaction to the Ole Miss loss on here? Remember the "Ole Miss won't lose two!" and the "We suck and will lose 3, 4 or 5", etc, etc???
How much of that was true? I'll tell you, the exact amount of the stuff I've read in here.

I wouldn't mind seeing us use 3-4 backs per game similar to LSU and Auburn does it. I wonder why we don't do that?

We have in past years and we were using 3 this year before Drake got hurt. Just depends on how many RBs have earned PT by earning the staff's trust.
