Regardless of positioning, the ref is supposed to prevent the ball from being snapped until the defense has a chance to sub. He was clearly trying to explain to Winston why he couldn't snap the ball, but Winston saw someone smaller than him in the way of what he wanted, and just pushed him out of the way.

Not the first time hes done this

Ref never should have been standing there. It's one thing to stand over the ball, it's another to stand between the center and QB.

Actually he was doing his job in allowing a defensive substitution. Just because Winston wanted to run the hurry up, doesn't mean the ref wasn't doing his job. He should've been ejected.

The ref could have stood in front of the center like he always does and still prevented the ball from being snapped. That way, Winston could have been in position to snap the ball as soon as he moved out of the way.

Then you're not a very bright player. Which would explain why you and Jameis are on the same page with this.

I can't imagine there being a scenario where it's necessary to lay hands on the referee. Except if he just hit you or something, but he was clearly explaining to Winston what was going on.

Or he could've stood where he did, like plenty of refs do, and Winston could've just dealt with it like a lot of QBs do. I can think of at least once this season where the ref was allowing subs against UK and Towles had to wait for a slow arse ref to get the hell out of the way. This is nothing new and no it doesn't give the QB some magical right to put his hands on the official pre-snap.

And of course there's Jimbo taking up for Winston, yet again...

quote:

"I don't think [Winston] realized it. He was caught up in the excitement of the moment," Fisher said. "Hey, you get emotional. He didn't realize. He thought he could snap the ball. ... He knew that was his job -- get out there and set and snap the ball."

Fisher said he didn't talk to Winston about the contact, which he felt was innocuous and unintentional.

"He doesn't even remember [when he came to the sideline]," Fisher said. "When I yell at players, five minutes later, I don't remember who I yelled at. You move on to the next thing."

God I hope we beat this shite team. Auburn started this trend by letting them off the hook in the NCG. I hope we end it.

I hope Winston gets wrecked, man. I just hope we're ready and the players are inspired by Muschamp's last game.

Jameis is probably my most disliked NCAA player of all time, and his putting his hands on an official & basically shoving him definitely is grounds for at least a flag, but if the ref would've done that, he would've been crucified by the media & much of the public. Had the ref fallen down, it might've been another story. The announcers were busting a gut laughing about it & seemingly thought it was cute. Just a shame things have gotten to the point that the reprehensible behavior & actions of some players has become so widely accepted by much of the public and the powers that be.

The majority of refs and of course experts from other conferences said it should have been at least a fifteen yard penalty, if not an ejection.

I rarely get upset over players, because in the end it is a game -- but he's just a terrible person on and off the field.

And the ACC is protecting that playoff bid like it's their child.

Oh, I absolutely agree it should have been at least a penalty, and I know the officiating experts agree, but at the end of the video clip, the "talking heads" & "anchors" of the sports show, the ones everyone sees & listens to, particularly the dude, talked about how it should NOT have been a penalty, and people are making too much of it. He even went so far as to bring frickin Tim Tebow into it, contrasting non-existent situations, instead of just focusing on the specific action of this specific player, Jameis Winston. Sadly, that is what is listened to & heard by the general public everyday.

Remember when he acted like Manziel was an awful person and he was a saint? That was fun.

And the thing is: I always liked Manziel. From the very beginning 'til now, he's not that bad of a guy.

Winston, though, is just a new kind of piece of shite. He's bad for the game, and definitely not worthy of a Heisman.

Does not matter.

Right or not the ref was there. Should have been a flag and an ejection.

And you would deserve a flag an ejection.
