So you're saying you're not surprised a kid is looking out for his own future?

2017 seems like forever to a high school kid.

? What
Yes I'm not surprised the young man is looking out for his own best interest.
Especially when he is friendly with the QB who was cut im sure that did not sit well with his family or coaches.
Hes got plenty of time to take visits wherever he goes.. No need to lockdown your recruitment this far in advance....
Unless said school was your dream school no matter what.

I think it's safe to say Mullen knows what the hell he is doing.

Cutting loose a 3* early enrollee 2 weeks before he graduates is giving MSU a huge black eye in the DFW area, which has a crap pot full of talent.

You don't know much about football if you think you can sustain a high level program being the 3rd choice of Alabama recruits.

I love how you think you know OUR blueprint for success when you haven't even shown the ability to sustain a high level program being the first choice in Texas.

Moving on. No one GAF about this. Did we do Virgil wrong? Absolutely. And I've said as much a few times here and even on the most homer MSU boards on the web. But the concern trolling is just too much. Darn, we may temporarily lose our opportunity at being 12th choice in DFW, lest we have significant pre-existing ties like we had with Fred Ross having family ties at MSU. He flipped from Ok State with an OK State-grad head coach against all local pressure. That's a situation/player that we're going to get regardless of this Virgil deal.

Darn, we lost a 2017 kid that we offered and committed before he blew up and didn't have a single CB predicting him to actually sign with MSU even prior to the Virgil situation. At a position that Mississippi alone produces a 2 SEC program-sustainable abundance of talent in. I'll let you in on a secret -- we are not and never will worry about LB recruiting at MSU. Who you see as a 2* HS QB, no-offer, nobody now is who will be Benardrick McKinney for us tomorrow. That's how recruiting works in small-town Mississippi. But you don't know anything about that -- because the vast majority of what you recruit is hyper-exposed finished products.

If you want to concern troll us about recruiting in a manner that actually bothers people, it needs to be regarding the OT or QB positions that are harder to come by(or at least harder to project) in our own state.

So your long term plan is to offer 2 star QBs and move them to defense.

In 6 years, this regime will have put 7 or 8 linebackers into the NFL. I think we know what we're doing.

And yes, a couple of them were 2* QBs. Maybe if you recruited a couple of those someone on your entire defense would actually be able to tackle(I doubt it).
