sorry for the pun

but has this been made fun of yet?

There’s no denying that Tennessee’s offense has been a drastically different unit since Joshua Dobbs took the reins. With Dobbs, the Vols are dynamic. They’re balanced. They’re tough to defend. And they’re scoring points in bunches.

Tennessee is averaging 38.33 points per game since Dobbs took over. The Vols posted their biggest win over Kentucky in 14 years on Saturday. They’ve posted back-to-back 500 yard games against SEC opponents for the first time since 2000. Tennessee scored 20 points on Alabama, something UT hadn’t done against the Tide (in regulation) since 2003. The Vols recorded 344 rushing yards against South Carolina – their most against an SEC foe since 1994. Dobbs’ 166 yards rushing against South Carolina set a school record for a quarterback.

Dobbs has done well, but any time someone starts extrapolating with the whole, "If he played X games," or "if he keeps up his current production," my eyes glaze over. It almost never works out that way, and people who project performance in that manner need to re-take their Statistical Methods class to gain a better understanding of how statistical projection actually works.

Josh Dobbs is the opposite of Anthony Davis.

Compared to our anemic offense when Worley was holding the reigns, yes.

He's a very, very good player.

Despite his gawdy numbers, he's really only played 10 quarters of football. On the bench the first quarter against Alabama, and he was on the bench the fourth quarter against UK.

I think he was referring to the linked article from rockytopinsider, which is entitled "Dobbs for Heisman".

I kinda agree that kind of hype is ridiculous and premature at this point.

Let's see how he does over the next 2-3 games, then we can discuss awards and shite for next year.

Josh Dobbs played decently vs Alabama. But Alabama was up 20+ by the time he came in.

SC and UK defenses are shite.

I will say this... Dobbs has performed when he had to. I hope that trend continues.

I don't think he will have the gaudy numbers against Mizzou because their D is actually playing pretty well and have a pulse.... Unless Dobbs balls out. Then we will hear all about how bad Mizzou D is.

Why didn't Butch play Dobbs earlier in the year?

He wanted to redshirt him. Dobbs family wanted him to RS a year as well to focus on his academics since it is a pretty demanding major. And tbh, apparently Dobbs ia more of a gamer. His practice performance wasn't great folka reported.

Then Worley got hurt and Jones talked to Dobbs' family about playing. He gave Peterman one last shot and gave him the start vs Bama. That didn't work out so he put Dobbs in.

exactly

no reason to take everything personally, but the guy has some football to play before he becomes one of the finalist for the Heisman in 2015
