At least everyone else in the division also forgot to play on Sundays. The only questions are, who wins that cripple fight? And is 6 wins enough?

"The Rebels" and the 'rebel' flag used to be a liability I'm certain. As a 12 year-old white Texan (whose team was in the sWc) I recognized that getting an African-American bluechip to move TO Mississippi and play for The Rebels wasn't hardly barely even EVER going to happen. It seems now that no one cares. They've landed plenty of African-American standouts.

As to the "Redskins" analogy: "Rebels" isn't racist. Worst-case scenario you use James Dean as a mascot. There's nothing wrong with being a rebel. In a world that's being inherited by the great-grand-children of the baby-boomers (the 'original American rebels') it's all just par.

If you want to find racism in a college football team's nickname you need look no further than The Fighting Irish. Now that IS racist.

I believe this was their earlier mascot from the 50/60s

They should've dropped football and gone Ice Hockey.

As an Irish American I'll be contemplating your comment as I lie dying.

The Jousting Joyces are good too, don't get me wrong. Unfortunately, I can think of no natural, or even decorous, way to integrate Finnegans Wake into my reply. Perhaps some semi-obscure reference to you now being amongst The Dead instead?

Correct answer

As to everybody eles, The Flood has not been integrated to any of your responses.

In a perfect world you would integrate this pic

with this

With the original Flood represented by the classic Flood Pants

Back in the '80's, we called them the '49ers, because of they ;/) lack of Defense.

Wowdy Webels, Elmer Fudd style, is my favorite.
