Joe Price from Madison who they dropped once Singleton committed to Ole Miss

That didn't happen. Price got bad advice from Bobby Hall and Scott Lindsey.

Didn't have his grades in order during a numbers crunch after being given ample time to handle them and being told his scholly was dependent on it from the beginning.

Wasn't taking care of business in the class room. In fact, wasn't halfway going to class. Skipped school on a day when our coaches dropped in for an unexpected visit.

Also, please spare the "brutal honesty" bullshite. Mullen's staff blows air just like any other staff does.

I would spare you the "brutal honesty" bullshite -- if you hadn't made up your entire post straight from talking points on the Spirit.

Damn, Engie with some facts.

I also love that this has indeed happened in the past 5 years but you all somehow failed to correctly identify one of those circumstances.

I don't think it's going to matter if there's more to the story. It's the Texas coaches' perception of what happened that will matter in the future.

From West Mesquite no less, as in Malik Jefferson and DeAndre McNeal West Mesquite.

Don't expect Mississippi State to pull any decent prospects out of the Dallas/FW area once this gets around the coaching circles.

You think those are facts because engie said them?! Damn you are stupid

I feel bad for the kid. Hope he gets a chance somewhere. Hope Mullins didn't screw up his chance to play football somewhere decent. And I hope his HS coach fights Mullins at a local sonic.

They weren't going to "pull any decent prospects out of the Dallas/FW area" anyway, so no loss.

I had thought you were a blow hard but now I know you are not only full of shyiat but not very bright to boot. I know for complete fact that 2 of your excuses on the list of late drops are total lies. Either you are drinking someone's KoolAid or you have a complete lack of integrity. Pretty classless & stupid to slander a bunch of HS kids on a public forum like this!

I admittedly don't know much about this situation, but doing this to a QB seems especially shitty. Other schools are unlikely to have a spot for an EE QB this late. Most already have their guy.

I love the sad rationalizing here. No, every school does not do it. You wouldn't say that if it was Ole Miss and Freeze who pulled this.

Sumlin isn't near stupid enough to burn a coaching bridge like that in DFW, you know one of the most fertile recruiting spots in the country.

Just own. Your coach made a super shitty move and royally fricked up some kids college and football plans.

Not at all. The kid can grey shirt. He wouldn't see time next year with Dak returning anyway. This in no way changes the kids outlook over the next year, it is his decision to take it or not.

And if you bring up paying for school, maybe he should have made the grades to have it paid for regardless. There is no reason this has to change his plans.

Freeze did this shite last year and I honestly never said a word about it. Nor do I care when Alabama does it. The only thing exceptionally shitty about this is the timing, and he still has until Feb to sign somewhere.

This is my fault.

I recently was praising Mullen because he seemed like a really good guy as far as college coaches go. Anything I touch....

Excuses, "shite happens", its a business, that crap is all well and good when you want your team to win and you don't care what happens to a kid. When it is your son it matters. If Hugh Freeze pulls these kinds of shenanigans I wouldn't support it. I would still cheer for the Rebels but I would also express to my school that I don't like it.

And not everyone does it. It is self serving and should be called such.

Engie on the defensive for no reason as usual. I never said he wasn't justified in his decisions, just that they were frequent. Also, you are welcome to look at my username on scout and see that I do not subscribe to the Spirit, an incredibly ironic statement considering everything you post on recruiting is regurgitated from your 24/7 site

Engie, can you go over the admissions differences for athletes between MSU, ULL, and MTSU please?

I know MSU requires a stellar 2.0 and 18 on the ACT as other MS schools.

There are two things that sum this situation up easily.

1) Recruits get dropped sometimes. It happens.

2) The timing of dropping him is what sucks and is what will hurt us.

That's it.

Recruits get dropped all the time, yet Mullen consistently gets absolutely hammered by the HS coaches in the media for the way he does it whereas no one else seems to.

Not to mention Mullen loses his shite when committed kids even think about taking an official visit somewhere else.

I'm not about to argue with y'all about this.

Y'all are Ole Miss fans so you're going to eat it up no matter what.

When else has he been hammered for it by the media?
