The crutches are to prevent excessive weight bearing and the brace helps with immobilization (more decreasing it to prevent unwanted movement - you still need to work on maintaining range of motion pre-operatively). But he can definitely be on the sidelines for a game like he was. So yea, he definitely was on the sideline despite tearing his ACL. If he had an articular surface injury like a fracture or bad meniscal injury then it would be a little different.

According to one article Gurley stood next to Marshall during game.

I'm fast-forwarding my DVR recording right now. One quarter down. 3 to go.
They talked about Gurley's situation for 2 minutes but never showed him. Then they showed Chubb for a while on sideline and you could red shoes, next to crutches in background..........but they never panned up to show this person's head.
We'll figure it out.

I know I'm not a part of the HG, but I thought I'd help out by saying that Todd was definitely wearing the beanie on the sideline. Whoever took "other" should win.

There's pics of him pregame that we've shown and there's post game pics of him with Marshall with the same ski cap. Hopefully the rewatch shows it too
