See this proves exactly why there SHOULD NOT be an 8 team playoff. Think about who likely wins and tell me what changes from the four team we have now? Don't feed me the well any given Saturday crap. Half these teams have no chance to beat the other half.

12 is the max I want, and with giving top 4 conference champs a bye, it still gives meaning to the regular season. Plus allows the SEC and other top conferences, to schedule better OOC, since winning the conference still means a playoff spot.
The bye for the top 4 conference champs, also means you really wanna do well throughout the season.
Not to rehash old arguments, but like in 2011. Bama still makes it, but is a 5 seed, since they didn't win the SEC. And their first game is in BDS. LSU would get a bye, and their first game at Death Valley. Seems to keep meaning to the regular season.
Not all conferences will be represented, but most will. And Cinderellas are the best part of the basketball tournament. I don't see a down side. IMO

i think those would all be really interesting match
1 v 8 is a rematch wehre 8 won!
2 v 7 puts a shaky undefeated team up against one of th best offenses in the country.
Oregon v. Ohio State should be a shootout too.
it would all be worth watching for sure.

Ole Miss COULD beat Bama. (They already have)
Ohio State could beat Oregon. (4 times out of 7)
Baylor could beat Florida State. (And might beat them by 4 touchdowns if they did).
Your point?

Bingo. Say LSU has a slightly better resume than say Kansas in basketball. Who gets the higher seed? It sure as hell won't be LSU. Kansas has the name. If Okie State, had been OU in 2011. They make it, not Bama. Its college. Often times the name on the front of your jersey, means more than your resume.

So, yes, a "sh*tty 9-7 New York Giants" team would be a welcome champion in my book.
For nearly 150 years too many teams have been disqualified for having lost ONE game early and/or to a fired-up rival and/or this in the rain.
I don't know why YOU are bitching. Your team is WAY better right now than it was 2 months ago.

have you watched anything outside of LSU this year?
Ole Miss already beat Bama once this year.
FSU has been extremely shaky against a bunch of average teams and would have to win a shootout vs Baylor.
TCU has the passing offense to put up points on Miss State.
Ohio State actually put up more points on Michigan State than Oregon did and had to do it in East Lansing.

Lets just use last year's week 16 BCS rankings to set up the 16 teams shall we?
01. Florida St (13-0)
02. Auburn (12-1)
03. Alabama (11-1)
04. Michigan St (12-1)
05. Stanford (11-2)
06. Baylor (11-1)
07. Ohio St (12-1)
08. Missouri (11-2)
09. South Carolina (10-2)
10. Oregon (10-2)
11. Oklahoma (10-2)
12. Clemson (10-2)
13. Oklahoma St (10-2)
14. Arizona St (10-3)
15. Central Florida (11-1)
16. LSU (9-3)
Where is this so called shitty 9-7 type Giants team you speak of? I don't see a single team barely over .500 anywhere near the BCS top 16 brah.

Id don't even see how the giants were shitty. Did they not have to win all four of their games in the playoffs vs the "non shitty teams"?
He used a terrible analogy.

Yeah, and that's why college football is the best sport. Because the best team or at least the second best team usually wins.

What didn't you understand about 9-7? I mean, I guess that's pretty good in the Pac 20.

Clemson, Arizona St, Central Florida are all terrible and if CFB was structured like the NFL would easily be around 9-7. I'm guessing math isn't your strong suit, but a 16 teams is basically half the NFL.
Next.

Basically what this comes down to is the people who are in favor of creating a pointless regular season in favor of and end-of-season lottery are the fans of teams who would never sniff a national title otherwise.

Very good point. Because very likely then you would have these winners:
Bama, Miss St, Oregon, Baylor
Would be a little different without FSU I guess.

Three college teams that averaged out to about 10-2 = 9-7 in the NFL? 16 out of 32 teams in the NFL playoffs = a potential 16 in CFB where there are over 120 teams? Gump gonna gump I guess.
