I criticize them for the bad games and I'll praise them for their good games. Last night's game, while not to where we want to be, was a much better showing.

As much as anything, it seemed that some guys relaxed a little bit and I think it showed a bit in our shooting. We are going to have to be able to hit outside shots against these teams playing zone against us. Last night from 3: J3 was 2/2, Clark 3/4 and Teki 4/7.

I think you're also starting to see the minutes go to those who are producing. Teki, Sham and Clark all had 30 minutes plus. J3 and Rosburg each had over 20.

While they fell back into lulls at times, I thought I saw more ball movement and more off the ball movement than in the last couple of games.

Hopefully they can keep it up because the crowd did suck seeing all of the empty seats but winning or at least putting a good product on the Court is the only thing that will cure that. Hopefully last night was a step in that direction.

Another thing I've noticed in the last 2 games, part of it is probably simply due to having superior athletes but I think KA gets some credit too.

Valpo...up 1 at half and outscored them by 14 in the 2nd half.
ORU...down 2 at half and outscored them by 16 in the 2nd half.

Who holds the scoring mark for a freshman at Mizzou?

So far this year, Teki is averaging over 16 a game. Obviously, haven't played the tough games yet, but was curious.

I would like to second this post.

The thing that kinda struck me towards the end of the game was that this is kind of a Norm-ish team. (It would help if there was a Peeler or Smith on the team, but that is for another day.). One of the things they seem to be starting to get is their role on the team. Sure, Bello took some outside shots. But they were in the flow of the offense. Clark is falling into a good leadership position on both offense and defense. Allen is coming in, hustling, playing d and rebounding. Post is actually posting up (with varying results).

I'm more than happy to eat crow. It's best if I'm wrong.

I thought Shamburger would be the floor general and he does seem cool and calm out there but I think Clark has done much more to take leadership and be that floor general.

Post is Post. He's got a nice quick jump hook and nothing else. Literally. Saw him miss from 6 inches last night. But he tries.

I think J3 has taken more outside shots this year than he did all of last year. He was passing on open ones last year like there was a dictate that only 3 guys get to shoot the ball. Regardless of the reason, good to see he has the confidence this year to let it fly a bit.

Same team had to come back in the 2nd half to beat UMSL.

We might down a "giant" or two along the way but I don't think we are far from being who we think we are.
