One more way I have found the SEC is different than the Big 12

In the Big 12 the other fan bases would have cared less if Mizzou lost to Indiana. There may have been some insults on the some of the boards, but not too many fans would have worried too much about Mizzou's embarrassment.

In reality the only school in the SEC Mizzou may have a hurt a little by that loss is Georgia's chance at the play-offs and they are a long shot any way. Alabama, Miss St. and Ole Miss aren't really hurt by that loss as far as the committee is concerned.

Although I do think a good portion of the insults hurled at Mizzou about the IN loss on the rant are just to give Mizzou fans crap, from the nature of many of the posts I do think that there is also disgust at Mizzou degrading the brand (and even as a Mizzou fan I can't disagree on that point). Fans wouldn't feel that way if there wasn't a general care about the league as a whole. I am not sure that league pride is as prevalent in other conferences.

SEC fans are notoriously more concerned with the appearance of the conference of the whole. Other conferences really could care less. That's how Ohio State still claims the B1G is a respectable conference after their annual arse-kicking at the hands of the MAC.

The SEC is the only conference that has fans of the Conference itself. I am a MS State fan first, SEC fan next.

Y'all should stop tarnishing the brand with your atrocious logos and uniforms in addition to your shitty play against mediocre B1G teams.

It's kinda like bullying other school kids, it's just for fun and games.. but hopefully you are toughening them up to deal with the real world.

I used to watch football from all over the country, now I rarely do. I'll watch Kentucky play Vandy and only use the "big" national game as a flipper.

It has sucked me in.

Wait, you lost your FOOTBALL game to IN? WTF dude? At least y'all fired someone, right?

ETA: I'm glad y'all are here

I never harassed Mizzou... I loved my time there and have planned a trip outside of football.

However, the wall of text you wrote....didn't read.

In reference to the brand value, it's also intramural. If, say, an Ohio State fan came on here attacking Missouri (or any SEC team), that fan is likely to get backlash, not necessarily because people are fond of the given SEC team, but because Missouri may be a bunch of imbecilic meth-head Yankees, but beating that into their head is our job. Outsiders from inferior conferences are not welcome to join in.

The kind that's in the basement of a Panda Express or the kind that they have at little kids birthday parties?

MIZ loses to IU at home and you're going to brag? Outrageous just shut the hell up about it.

Oh by the way the badgers are going to win the B1G and LSU beat them with their worst team in a decade.

You'll always have insults hurled at you after losing a football game to a B1G team. That's considered a huge failure to SEC fans. Personally, I'm not sure if Missouri, Arkansas or A&M fans understand how much these games mean to other SEC fans.
