I admit that when Gurley was first suspended, I fell into the trap of thinking Chubb would be a suitable replacement until Todd returned. But you watch those runs and think "My God!", Todd's stats are in serious trouble of being overtaken by his successor. Chubb is an absolute stud!

one of the things I've always really liked about Gurley is his stiff arm.

I've just noticed now that Chubb doesn't stiff arm hardly at all. He just hits you (Gurley would do that some too).

Chubb looks much more compact than Gurley when he's running. When TGIII got going he looked like thoroughbred stretching down the track....Chubb looks like he's running in a box without much effort.

I don't know what if anything this means....hopefully less injury prone. Just an observation.

Shifty and Quick! He reminds me of when I was a kid and we played "Pick up and Run". There was always one kid you just couldn't catch and get down.

Thanks for sharing! How in the hell do we keep getting these monster RBs and are there any more in the works?

Under Richt we have been getting 5*s and outside of inheriting Musa and finding a gem in Moreno we have mostly whiffed (except Thomas Brown because that dude is my favorite). Lately, the staff has done an excellent job at evaluating guys in addition to getting the same caliber of talent. So instead of getting 5*s like King and Danny Ware they have gotten studs like Chubb/Michel and found Gurley before anyone else not named Clemson.

Sooooo favorite run?

Mine personally was the screen pass against Auburn when he randomly knocks the shite out of the corner getting blocked and then proceeds to stroll into the endzone

See 2:39 for further reference

The long one against Florida was nice. When two defenders meet him at the same time, have him dead to rights, and then just explode outward like they were hit with repulser rays.

Chubb is a great runner, better than I expected and I thought he'd be a good one. But, without trying to compare present and past RB's, this may be the best run blocking line we've had during the Richt era. They seem to have given it more attention during the offseason and they've been executing their blocks very well. On that double FB, unbalanced line play against Auburn, Chubb was hardly touched until he was 5 yards past the LOS. He had a good head of steam and there was no way to stop him from scoring.

Gurley has lengthy strides. Probably a lot more torque on his legs and knees when he cuts or changes direction. It seems to open a RB up to more non-contact types of injuries. I was amazed at times, and happy, that he didn't have an injury like that sooner.
