Wanted to get a feel from the Ark what "Aggie Nation" wants in a bowl game. PICK 1 or 2.

Option 1
TaxSlayer Bowl vs Clemson (Jacksonville)
Friday Jan 2nd 2:20 pm
ESPN
OR
Outback Bowl vs Minnesota (Tampa)
Thursday Jan 1st 11:00 am (Citrus Bowl starts 1 hour later)
ESPN2

Option 2
AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl vs t.u. (Houston)
Monday Dec 29th 8:00 pm (No MNF)
ESPN

In terms of best chance of winning, I would go with the Outback Bowl vs Minnesota. The idea of our defense against Clemson's offense gives me heartburn, and IDGAF about the Texas Bowl and/or Texas.

Basically, I just want to play a new team at a new place.

Say MSU screws up and The Big 10 only gets 1 team in the big bowls. If its Wisco and not Minny does that change your opinions?

Yes. I would want Texas. Melvin Gordon and that line would run for 783 yards on us

Wisco & Neb are the 2 teams I want to duck in Bowl Season.

I'll take this. It would be a better win/loss than Minnesota. Jan 1st is going to be inundated with big bowl games and we would get no attention even if we beat Minn.

honestly I'd want the most challenging matchup possible so of them, give me Clemson.

We're going to improve immeasurably between now and the bowl game because we are so young. Guys like Allen, Speedy, Myles, Alaka, Watts...they are improving rapidly and they are pretty much our best players as is.

Also for those worried about winning, do you really think any of these teams compare to the gauntlet of the SECW? Honestly? We may not win against a Clemson. But what's the point of playing a bad Minnesota team? Totally uninteresting even if you win. Booooring. Change it to Wisky or Nebraska and I'd be okay with a B1G game.

And while I'm on record stating I'd resume the tu series, the next time we face off there will be a lot of hype. I think it would be a major marketing mistake for both schools to waste that on a minor bowl.

I'm also in favor of the game resuming and I completely agree that a Texas Bowl matchup would be a very uneventful way to return that game

I've seen match-ups (all though the most unlikely) of SC vs Texas in the Liberty Bowl.

If we played Texas in the Liberty Bowl and A&M played Clemson in the Gator Bowl?

I kind of feel the tu match up turns a shitty bowl game into one with meaning. Plus its in a neutral location with large amounts of each's fan base.

it would. But it's a one-time thing. It's not going to be nationally that important the 2nd time it happens. The problem is that no one gaf about the Texas Bowl. So while it makes the Texas bowl more important - let's say 2.0 rating to 3.0, a 50% improvement - it's still a shitty bowl.

It's like designing the most amazing commercial ever and instead of waiting to unveil it at the Super Bowl, you first air in during a Tennessee - Buffalo mid-season game. It isn't novel any more when the Super Bowl rolls around so no one talks about it because they were focused on new commercials. You didn't get anywhere near the bang for your buck.

Hold your water til it's a nationally relevant game.

From the DMN
quote:

But administrators don't think like fans or media. They think of money, which is never sentimental.

As attractive as a reunion would be for the Texas Bowl, officials on both sides would be selling low. They're guaranteed a bowl payout as is. Why waste a money-maker on this gig?

Better question: How much do you think a season opener would go for in JerryWorld? Michigan and Florida will reportedly split $12 million in 2017. For the rights to put on the first A&M-Texas game since 2011, do you think Jerry Jones might up the ante a little bit?

This def makes your point TMC. I can def agree with that. A&M v tu in Jerryworld to open the 2018 could demand stupid amounts of money as long as the teams were pretty good.
