I think it is a tough call. Improving team, but not much in the way of results. It looks like we will be better next year, so it won't be an easy call to pull the plug.

Striklin has already said Ray will return next season.

I just cannot say I expect us to improve. The unfortunate truth is that this team has improved very little over the last 3 years when you look at results, which are really all that matters.

2013: 11 wins
2014: 14 wins
2015: 11-13 wins

People can talk about this being the first year with a full team all they want. He has managed to improve at most 3 games over 3 years while going from like 6 scholarship players to his "full team".

I hate what this is doing to something I love. The only thing another year will do is further destroy our program and fan support. Maybe fans like me are the problem, but fans like me are still people in seats and there seem to be a lot fewer of those lately.

Had a discussion yesterday with a friend and he had a good point. If we fire Rick this year its not like we'll be any better next year. Might as well let this recruiting class come in and see what happens and then make a decision next year.

The players we have right now could win games. They deserve the best coach we can get more than the fans do.

I made the argument that I thought we should let Stans stay a year longer to retain Hood and some other players. Now I don't really think its a good argument. If change needs to be made you make it, another year of poor basketball far outweighs any recruits.

LOL

Do you not realize where we would be at this point in wins with a healthy Chicken and IJ? We are most likely sitting at 18 wins right now. That 5 game losing streak would've never happened.

Awesome. We aren't. We have 11 wins.

Not many teams can sustain losing their two best players and still win a lot of ball games. So go on and act naive enough to ignore simple facts.

Losing games is one thing, 11-13 and losing to some of the worst teams in the country is another. There is no excuse for it, the 2013 team was about as good and there were guys playing that we picked up in the sanderson.

This is just wrong. We were regularly killed in year one. It was painful to watch. We lost SEC games by an average of over 20 pts per game. The average loss was closer in year 2. It is much closer in year 3. 5 of the 8 SEC losses this year have been by 6 pts or less. We have certainly moved from non-competitive to competitive.

I really don't care if he gets fired, but i would really like to see a stretch with Ray having his best five players healthy. I don't think he has had one game like that yet. Last night was gonna be the first. Then roq went out and IJ got roughed up. So frustrating.

Charger - talking to Skirp about basketball is impossible. You either are beating on Rays door with torches and pitchforks or you're an idiot.

It really irks me because despite the record... I really feel like this night in and night out this team has a chance to compete in win. Yes we are losing some games. But there is a reason for that. We just don't have a legit shooter/basketball player. We have a ton of athletes that are good basketball players but there isn't just a complete basketball player on this team. IJ Ready has shown the glimpses of it, but he's too passive at times. And we need to fire George Brooks. The fact that Gavin Ware is not an All-SEC F/C at this point is solely on him.

Ware is probably the most frustrating player to me. He looks like he has lost all of the explosiveness he had as a freshman.

He acts like he can't get 2 inches off of the floor.

Now to counter that point, seeing as many zone defenses we do it makes it exponentially more difficult on Ware because there are 3 people surrounding him at all times.

I'm sick of IJ Ready being "hurt."

This is where players like Travis Daniels need to step up more consistently. Him being able to take the basket and get into the middle of the lanes helps, but he's so inconsistent.

I'm so done with Travis Daniels.

That mother fricker pisses me off so much. On the opening possession of the Ole Miss game he fricking blows passed his man and throws down a one handed jam.

Then several times he just fricking has no brain. Passes hitting him in the chest that he somehow misses and they go right out of bounds, acts scared as a fricking woman, and just acts like he has no brain. There is not one person on the team as frustrating as him.

If Ray wants to do this Big Ten style of basketball, he needs to get some recruits that don't have SEC brains.
