If 2 SEC teams make the playoff, would the committee try to avoid the rematch?

Let's say SEC Team A gets the #1 spot by consensus.
And SEC Team B by consensus gets fit in the #4 spot.
Would the committee finagle it so that, if a rematch happens, both teams had to "earn" their way there from the first round? In other words, switch the #4 and #3 just for that reason.
And should they?

Yes.
They would put FSU number 1 and Bama number 2 with an SEC team being 4th if they have to.
They would cite FSU's ridiculous undefeated streak as justification.
OR. They finagle it that two SEC teams have to play each other first round to avoid a championship being all SEC.
Either way we can be conspiracy theorists.

Yes. Remember this isn't a known, public formula like the bcs, it's a committee of regular human beings. They can put whoever they want wherever they want. If it's apparent that 2 SEC teams are getting in, I would think they'd definitely pair them in the first round.
I don't think even SEC fans would want to see another all SEC final.

Also, would they send an SEC or ACC team to Pasadena when they could send them to New Orleans? I am guessing that those things will weigh on the committee's minds...

IMO I don't think the committee cares about where they send teams...their job is only to pick the top 4 teams. They likely couldnt' care less about bowl revenue or how many fans will travel.

I think they would have them meet in the first round. I don't see them setting up the potential of 2 SEC teams in the Championship Game.

It would have to be MSU and Bama. UGA has 2 ugly loses even if they won the SECCG.
I do not see MSU being higher than #4 and bama would have to be #1 if they win out. Otherwise they are not in the playoff.
So it would have to be UA vs MSU in the Sugar Bowl.

They're going to do everything they can to avoid 2 SEC teams in the playoffs altogether. If Oregon, Ohio State and TCU all win out, State will be going to the Orange Bowl or Peach Bowl. One loss Alabama, Florida State, Oregon and of the one loss conference champions from the Big 10 or Big 12 will get in over State

Wiki says this, which I found interesting.
The melt would be amazing in the future to see something like number one seed Bama and fourth seeded LSU get sent to Pasadena instead of NOLA because of this (though 1/9/12 didn't matter).

is what it should look like (and what I think it will look like)
The problem being that with the remaining schedule for all involved it will be hard to move anyone if they win out and have any type of justification for doing so.
They will avoid putting two SEC teams on opposite sides of the bracket, but they're going to look like idiots in the process unless they put MSU at 3 tonight

I really doubt this. State still has a game left with a top 15 team. Their resume would greatly trump that of a big 12 or big 10 champ
TCU had the best crack at this but they beat Kansas by 4 and collectively fricked themselves. Virginia Tech has turned into a dumpster fire, so the committee can't with a straight face say OSU has a better resume than MSU

There's no way the committee puts in a team that finished 3rd in the SEC over two teams that won their conferences and only finished with one loss.
