Don't fret my War Tiger/Eagle/Plainsmen bruhs. We don't lose that much in 2015...

I personally think we don't lose Duke, Sammie or Frost...

2014 Offense

QB - Nick Marshall
RB - Cameron Artis-Payne
TE - CJ Uzomah
LT - Shon Coleman
LG - Devonte Danzey
C - Reese Dismukes
RG - Chade Slade
RT - Avery Young
WR - Sammie Coates
WR - Duke Williams
WR - Quan Bray

2015 Offense

QB - Jeremy Johnson
RB - Jovan Robinson
TE - Jakell Mitchell
LT - Shon Coleman
LG - Alex Kozan
C - Xavier Dampeer
RG - Avery Young
RT - Patrick Miller
WR - Sammie Coates
WR - Duke Williams
WR - Ricardo Louis

2014 Defense

DE - Davonte Lambert
DT - Angelo Blackson
DT - Montravius Adams
DE - Gabe Wright
LB - Cass McKinzy
LB - Kris Frost
Star - Robenson Therezie
CB - Jonathan Mincey
CB - Jonathan Jones
S - Jonathan Ford
S - Jermaine Whitehead

2015 Defense

DE - Carl Lawson
DT - Montravius Adams
DT - Davonte Lambert
DE - Elijah Daniel
LB - Cass McKinzy
LB - Kris Frost
Star - Justin Garrett
CB - Jonathan Jones
CB - Joshua Holsey
S - Jonathan Ford
S - Tray Matthews

And you have A LOT of guys that have played that will be back ups...Quality depth.

I think the defense will be much better than this years' version.

3 years will be the charm.

It will be Austin Golson and Avery Young. Not only does Golson have experience playing with Dampeer /not on 1st team, he is likely better at OG than Young.

Likely

RG- Golson
RT- Young

quote:

LT - Shon Coleman

Braden Smith will either win this spot or one of the RT/RG spots.

quote:

Star - Justin Garrett

Nick Ruffin is slated to play star. Garrett moved to LB and Ruffin has earned all the rotational snaps

quote:

CB - Jonathan Jones
CB - Joshua Holsey

Tony Bridges is expected by the staff and start from day 1

quote:

DE - Carl Lawson
DT - Montravius Adams
DT - Davonte Lambert
DE - Elijah Daniel

D.Lambert will likely not move inside. D.Russell will likely start and be supported by Devaroe Lawrence, JUCO DT,J.Johnson (FR) and Andrew Williams

Elijah Daniel likely will not start over Rasheed Kennion who got equal snaps before injury and will put on weight going into next year to be more well rounded

Patrick Miller, barring massive improvement, should not be in the starting lineup.

Call me crazy, but I think slotting Braden Smith into LT right now and never taking him out until he leaves Auburn would be the best possible choice.

He's clearly gifted enough to make things happen. Let him learn and take over the spot.

Put Shon at RT and let him learn at a position with less pressure. He could still grow into a great player. Just not confident in him at LT.

next year actually doesn't look that bad assuming everyone stays healthy and players return for senior season.

Assuming Duke Williams, Sammie Coates, Kris Frost and Cass McKinzy return... Personally, I would like to see some position changes - like maybe Nick Ruffin moved to cornerback, and one of Derrick Moncrief or Tray Matthews moved to STAR to beef up the position. I see Elijah Daniels moving to defensive tackle.

QB Jeremy Johnson
RB Jovon Robinson or Racean Thomas
WR Duke Williams
WR Sammie Coates
WR Melvin Ray
TE JaKell Mitchell
LT Braden Smith
LG Alex Kozan
C Xavier Dampeer
RG Austin Golson
RT Avery Young

DE Carl Lawson
DT Monty Adams
DT Elijah Daniels
DE Devonte Lambert
LB Kris Frost
LB Cass McKinzy
STAR Nick Ruffin
CB Tony Bridges
CB Jonathan Jones
BS Derrick Moncrief or Tray Matthews
FS Rudy Ford

Let's get him to sign his LOI first.

That list looks pretty close to what I'd assume. Garrett may move back to Star, but either way, I like Ruffin there. The OL will have some good competition with Golson and Smith pushing for starting jobs. I really like where we'll be at S for the first time in a long time. Ford is still learning, but man, he's fearless and is 100 miles an hour to the ball. I love seeing him close on tackles. I bet we'll have a 1a Thomas and 1b Robinson situation at RB to start the year and then see who takes the bulk from there. Should be interesting to see if Tre Williams can break the starting rotation. I also think having Lawson back will be huge. He'll attract some double teams that none of our DE's would get this year, to open it up for some other DL and blitzes.

I'm done saying this until we see it on the field. We say this every year with all of these great players coming in, and it just never comes to fruition. As of now, the offense has to win ball games, and we don't even know who will be back for next year...which is why I refuse to predict our record for next year until I do know.

I think he was moved away from there because he got lost in coverage (sometimes it was ugly).

This is just an observation after going back and watching him at STAR during the last two seasons.

Is a bad man. Can't wait to see how we under-utilize him.

EJ said JG is actually better in space than Therezie. Therezie has been picked on along with Mincy ever since the Ole Miss game. It's an issue going all the way back to last season. Therezie would have been a hell of a safety but he's strugglin in man coverage.

We have no shortage of options for Star next year so the competion in the spring / fall should be good.
