White Ave and 14th is a fine spot. I guess a lot of it depends on if you want to tailgate where you park. A lot of people tailgate in the fields at the Lake Avenue Parking garage (19th st.), or near fraternity park drive (I'm having a real brain fart in remembering what it's called). Those are the free spots that are a bit away from the stadium, but there's little adjacent parking, and it goes early (a lot of people leave their cars there the night before). The bigger UT garages/lots are season ticket holders.

FIJI island? That's definitely a place you need to get to extremely early to have even a remotely decent spot.

Does anyone know anybody that can get us access to some of the better tailgating parking lots/garages?

We'll pay. Money isn't an issue.

FIJI island is great and free, just a little bit of a cluster frick. Bring a tent, tables, chairs, drinks, and a football or something.

I'll look around and see if I can round up anything parking garage wise. Sorry about the late responses, but it's been hectic as shite for me lately.

I tailgated at Calhouns for the Bama and the KY game.
Its $30 to park/tailgate. We set up a canopy tent, table, grill, etc. During the KY tailgate my 9 year old was playing football in the parking lot all day with a group of other kids. His first football game too. There will likely be some form of live music at Calhouns too. For a 7pm game and with the current excitement around the program I'd suggest getting there early, around 8 or 9am.

Its a good place to walk around and check out the VOL navy a bit too since its all right there.
Its a little bit of a walk to the stadium but there is always a decent crowd there and we always see visiting teams fans tailgating and walking through.
I just checked the weather forecast and it looks like good weather with sunshine and 57* for Sat.

I cant speak for the other areas. While I hope you enjoy yourself tailgating, I hope you go home very disappointed in the game results

Wish,

Do that on the MSB instead just after you troll Braves fans for the recent trade with STL.

They are so pissed

I really do think if the other team involved wasn't the Cards they wouldn't care near as much

With the exception of Volfan, not bc he's a Volfan just bc he's actually levelheaded (when he's being serious

You can pay to park at Mellow Mushroom and some of the businesses on the Strip/Cumberland Avenue like First Tennessee Bank. There is also a parking lot behind Copper Cellar. I have no idea what they charge now though. I usually go to FIJI island though.

One more bit of parking advice if you get in a bind that a poster mentioned on tRant...Ive parked a couple times over near the old city under the interstate(s). It's closer to Barley's on Jackson Ave and there will be parking there up until game time in case you are running behind...looks a little shady but nobody should bother your shite. From there, you can catch a shuttle right outside Barley's or walk and bar hop on the way (i would suggest this). It's probably a little over a mile or so and is an easy walk to the stadium.

Old City, that's a walk. I wouldn't mind, but that's not an easy walk. I'd say 95% of people would not be a fan. And it's a night game. While the area is not unsafe, and in particular game days are pretty safe in general, I'd say it's not the "safest" area, and could make some uncomfortable. But Barley's is awesome.

where is FIJI's in relation to the stadium? how would I get there?

also, what about that parking garage right next to the stadium where people tailgate up on the top deck? where is that located?

I hear ya...I still say it's a pretty easy walk for most people. And Its fun to drink on the way and stop at tailgates until you get where you're going. As long as you aren't scared of bums asking for change, the old city is harmless. But yeah, I was mainly throwing that out if he gets in a bind with finding parking.

FIJI island is on the heart of campus over next to frat row and Lindsay-Nelson Baseball stadium, so it would probably be an ideal place for you to tailgate if you can get there in time.
