A&M is more to blame with Sumlin's abortion of a contract. Now every coach who has a 10 win season will have his hand out for 5 mil per year.

I said unless they really want to overpay

If UF offers 4m then I think OM would match. If they offered 6 I don't think we would. Didn't say they COULDNT outbid us.

my point is, the definition of "overpay" depends on who you ask.

Very true. Bama at least dished out a ton for NC-winning coach.

Wish I was joking. I just added Freeze to my Ole Miss tattoo. Talk about regret...

Overpay as far as market value not budgetary. Do you think Freeze is worth Saban money? If UF gave him that would you think they over paid?

With our budget? shite no.

No way of knowing, unless you work in the OMAA foundation...exactly what our budget is...but we only spent 48 million last year on athletics. UF spent $113 million and still profited over 10 million. Obviously, I'd first look at more proven coaches if I'm looking to fork out the extra money...But if they turn UF down(which is very likely given how bad UF is)...then I would have no problem offering someone like Freeze that amount of money.

A three-year turnaround like Freeze has done at a place like Ole Miss will bring a $$$$$ to the table when offering a job.

I am hoping we can get away with just raising Mullen to 4 million.

Ross Bjork said there's been contract talks with Hugh Freeze and Jimmy Sexton, believes a new deal could be finished after the season.

and I doubt Foley's even called Sexton, yet.

His salary going into this year is 3 million exactly.

I figure it'll be 3.5 million. You can bet on 4 if we win the next two plus a bowl game.....4.5 million if we do that and Auburn beats Bama....

Gave him a million dollar raise this past offseason when we extended his contract.

3.2 might have been what he made after bonuses last year.

Increase HF's contract in exchange for upping the buyout to $10M. Both OM and HF need to show long term dedication to the other in the next negotiations.

I believe Ross Bjork will do every thing needs to keep Freeze in Oxford.. After the Bama win you could tell Freeze is at home in Oxford and at Ole Miss.

Part of keeping Freeze in Oxford is keeping Bjork in Oxford. They both need raises... big time.
