Is this considered a Meltdown?

If so, my apologies to fellow Bulldoggers.

HailState!

State still deserves to be in the top four.

I would put you in the top 4. I'm not sure the order, but I'd have Alabama, Oregon, MSU, and Fl State.

I'll be offended if they aren't. As I've stated for the last month, if State and Alabama both win out, they'll both be in the playoffs.

No.

Lost to Bama on the road.

Not sure if the committee will pick 2 SEC teams though in the final rankings.

Considering we will finish 11-1 with only loss being close one to Bama's we will be Top 4

Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, there's no way. The committee has been jizzing on itself, waiting until the division would self cannibalize. Now that it's happened, they can put that issue to bed.

Although, for the record, I'd be escatic if that happened.

I actually think 4 is where State should rank this week. I think the MSU is better than TCU, Baylor, and OSU.

There is a difference between being top 4 right now and top 4 at the end of the season. If Alabama loses, MSU is right back in the driver's seat and is all but guaranteed a spot if they win out. But if Alabama wins the SEC, some breaks could go against State that would make it tight.

Fl State winning out takes slot #2. Oregon winning out probably takes slot #3 considering they are "giving weight to conference champions". That leaves State fighting with potentially a Big 12 one loss champion. The Big 12 has no championship game, so it would be really interesting to see how that would play in.

In that situation, I could see Ohio State sneaking in at number 4.

Why should they be? State dominated the second half and really could have won that game if they had not made some bad mistakes of their own. Alabama jumping to that big lead gave the impression that they were dominant, but the reality was different.

Dak Prescott didn't have a good game, but State got down there several times and blew it. But, I did not get the sense that they were dominated. Yes, they should still be top 4.

That's right, I forgot about tOSU.

It would suck for State, because IMO their resume is much better, but I could see the pressure to have conference champs over a one loss SECW team.

On the other hand, it just seems weird to rank the teams every week, and then suddenly push a team above another one because of a "conference champ" label, ESPECIALLY if it's the B12 where there's not even a championship game.

It would suck for MSU because I think that State and Bama are the 2 best teams in the country (at this point).

ESPN would be really pushing the selection committee for
1. FSU
2. Bama
3. Oregon
4. Ohio State

There is no way that they could leave us out if we win our remaining games.

Out of all the one loss teams, who has the best loss? That's kind of weird to say, but the answer is as obvious as it gets.

$$$$, nobody (ESPN, advertising ppl, etc) wants to see a 1 loss non SEC champ MSU over a 1 loss Ohio State. It sucks but that is the way the cookie will crumble.

Yeah, yall had your chance and lost.

Putting them back in the top 4 could mean a rematch with Alabama, can you believe that??
