Four under Saban this year. Where will that put his legacy in relation to the Bear?

Bear will never be matched because he also played at Bama.

Love everything Bear did and stood for but Saban is the best. It is harder to be as successful as Saban is in this day and time of CFB. Any
Bama fan who says otherwise is CRAZY.

You could argue that Saban's current 4 are as good as Bryant's 6.

The SEC top to bottom is far more grueling now than back when the Bear did it.

Also Saban has won all his in the span of about 10 years, while Bear won his over a very long career.

It's like arguing who's better MJ or Kareem or something, you're talking about a few of the very best of all time.

Bear won a NC as a player, coached a Heisman winner AND a future NC winning Bama coach. Smashed Auburn with a record that I believe was 19-6 over 25 years.....I could go on but I'm too lazy.

Bear will never be matched.

But, in terms of national dominance and natty hardware, Saban may well match or best him when done, in much greater eras of parity(than the late 50s, 60s, 70s, turn of 80s), and in just half Bear's tenure.

They will definitely be the top two coaches ever.

However, Saban will never dominate the SEC, Aub or LSU, maybe not even Tenn,etc..to the same degrees than Bear did.

Bear Bryant after 7 seasons
60-11-5 (2 national championships)

Nick Saban after 7 seasons
79-15 (3 national championships)

I think we need to tone it down just a little bit. Saban has an 88-16 record at UA right now. Bryant finished with a 232-46-9 record at UA. Let's wait until after Saban has retired before we start comparing legacies.

At TAMU. Named after a black bird that wasn't a raven.
