Yeldon probably goes pro

1. Henry
2. Scarbrough
3. Drake
4. Jones/Tenpenny

I would put drake at 2 but I think his role is best served to be a pass catching RB that comes in situationally. He isn't an every down back imo. Love him and think he's got the best skill set but not a bruiser we need at times. Yeldon had the speed and power. Scarbrough will carry the load when henry comes out.

I feel like Tenpenny may transfer if he sees is role isn't going to increase.

Jones is probably the most talented back we have in terms of a combo of power/speed/vision/moves. Drake will be the second back in, but I think his role will be catching passes and changing the pace. Something like this:

Henry: 18 carries per game
Drake: 8 carries per game, 3 catches per game
Jones: 8-10 carries per game

Just guessing on numbers. Scarbrough will have a role. Can play RB, FB, H-Back, TE, Flanker, SE, Slot, etc. We HAVE to utilize him in different ways. Could probably return kicks too, honestly.

^ I wouldn't be surprised if that happened either. Henry has been really underwhelming this season. He needs to start playing like he is 241 pounds.

Agree.

Only thing I could change would be dropping a name off #4 or possibly replacing it with a true freshman.

Mag.

Bama players in the NFL.

Pic of Lacy being awesome.

All I'm saying.

I like what I've seen of Tyren. Reminds me a little of Ingram. Quick cuts, great feet, but compact enough to get yards after contact.

I'm not a huge fan of Bo and Henry's styles. Both are huge guys that were coached primarily to play small, always bouncing outside first. This is not highly efficient, and effects how well a back can read when he's expected to attack the middle.

Is Drake gonna be ready to play next year? I haven't heard much about his injury.

Depends on how Drake is post-injury.

Similar to Henry's in Spring practice last year.

That guy's ankle was turned 180 degrees out of position. Henry has a lower leg fracture. Drake was on a leg scooter. I don't think Henry was. I hope thats the case as far as severity and recovery go, but I have a hard time believing he will be back that soon.

I don't think they were that similar. Henry was back pretty quickly, IIRC.

Henry broke his fibula in the middle of April, was expected to be cleared in time for fall practice.

No one knows how bad it was, because it happened in a closed scrimmage.

Drake was given an 8-10 week recovery time before he can get back to football type training.

I was quoting Saban btw...

eta:
quote:

@Charlie_Potter
Saban said Kenyan Drake's injury is very similar to Derrick Henry's injury in the spring two years ago.

quote:

@AaronSuttles
Saban: Probably eight to 10 weeks before he can start doing things that allows him to play football again.

quote:

@CrimsonWalsh
Saban a little vague, but apparently Drake had a broken leg and dislocated ankle. Probably won't do anything 8-10 weeks.
