Hard to say, but if I was Gurley, I would have sat the rest of this season. There was nothing for him to gain, a lot to lose.

There are at least 3 other threads on this exact topic.
But I'll play: Gurley wasn't about to sit back and watch his team play a top 10 Auburn team at home in front of a racucous crowd at night in Sanford Stadium. He loves his guys, he loves this school, he loves competing. Everyone shaking their head at him or Richt for playing simply have no idea who this man is or what makes him so beloved.
