Finally somebody clears up who the hell she is. Bama fans were joking about her on the Guest Picker thread and none of them answered my plaintive inquiry regarding who this "Phyllis" person was.
I now have nawlej.

I couldn't dislike her more.

I'll do you one better. Phyllis from Mulga is probably the most infamous caller in the history of the Finebaum Show. She's been calling into the show since its inception 20+ years ago and she has provided us with some truly remarkable moments. Her rants are legendary. In fact, her rant back in 2002 on the injustice of Alabama's probation sentence is probably the greatest call in the history of the Finebaum Show.

I watched Finebaum the other day and a guy called in claiming to be a Bama alumnus and he said was embarrassed of the sidewalk fans. Then about 5 callers called in and said that just because you didn't go to college that didn't make you a real fan and people like Phyllis from Mulga are the true fans. Paul even agreed. I disagree with both. This call is embarrassing. A lot of her calls are embarrassing. She is a true fan and I am sure she loves her football team more than anything, but she shouldn't have so much disdain for the process that has favored Alabama over the years. 2011 was an embarrassing example of that fact.

She kind of had a point but was very "Bammer" in getting it across.

Given Harvey Updyke that's impressive.

She couldn't name 4 current players on the show either last week or the week before when Paul asked her. She said Mcelroy was still on the team

But you have to admit that they are as funny as hell. She's passionate and ignorant. That can be a hilarious combination.

She's right. Tell me one time Alabama hasn't been screwed over by a selection committee, ranking system, etc. If WAOM is screwing up in big games/moments, then WAA is getting screwed over by the proverbial "man."
Don't worry, I'll wait.

Okay, thank you. Normally, I saw that I wish Vandy had a bunch of passionate sidewalk fans like other SEC programs do, but...yeah, I can see the downside now.

How many Bammer dix have you had caress your supple lips in your lifetime?

Who cares though? It's not the final poll and the committee has more at stake than putting Bama in the most favorable position. They have an Armageddon scenario with the Big 12's "one true champion" formula naming multiple champions. Separating Baylor and TCU was the priority. Not letting Bama fans jerk eachother off so Phyllis has lower blood pressure throughout the week.
Last weeks poll was:
1. SEC
2. Pac 12
3. FSU
4. Big 12
5. SEC
6. Pac 12
7. Big 12
If you don't think that's postering for the 3 conference champs from the SEC/Pac 12/Big 12 plus FSU... You're oblivious. College football, and this playoff, are bigger than Alabama, as hard as that is for people like Phyllis from Mulga to understand.

There is no downside, Mr. Intelligent Better Than Others. Phyllis is a proud person living her life without shame. She is happy, thankful, and seemingly joyful.
All the money you earn, all the riches you gain, and all the snobbery you attain in your materialistic life will all be just a sad attempt to obtain what she naturally has.
So, let me ask you to just frick right the frick off. Thanks.

As someone whose grandmother is going through dementia, I find that really sad. And also proof that Finebaum still thinks she is a better fan than an alumnus because she calls in his show. So strange.

She doesn't seem happy to me.

Nothing to live for other than a football game?
