Mine is Chip Kelly I know it's a real long shot but aim high.

Anyone who has a record of working with quarterbacks. We have the running backs, all we need is to tune up the QB/WR dynamic to be fixed and our offense will be much better.

Personally, I don't even want to guess.

Bob stoops! Number one qualification: Won NC and has UF ties! Other than Spurrier and Meyer no one can say that.

Also, a defensive coach who has fielded quality offenses and multiple award winning QBs. Can put points on the board. Only had 3 seasons with less than 10 wins (8, 7, 8). Never missed a bowl game, good recruiter.

Send a blank check and see what happens.

Bob Stoops is a wierd one for me. Yes, he's a big name, but it doesn't excite me because I'm not sure how he'd fit. That's assuming UF can get him. I think its because I always think he's older, he's actually only 54.

ETA: Yes, developing QBs is a must. Preferably ones, who run people over and can do the jump pass

Most likely not anyone on those lists. Stoops has struggled with big 12 games...nevermind the SEC....but my biggest problem is his age and the ability to commit to really work HARD to turn program into a monster again.....it will take someone in their 30s-40s with high energy to recruit well.

It will probably be someone that will surprise us.

What about that guy at Wisconsin? I know it's sorta the same the system, but if Wisky has a competent qb that are undefeated right now.

I think 1 and 5 are unlikely. GP I like, but Mike Gundy is the coach I've really liked. He builds a solid team at OSU competing with UT, OU, and some of the SECW schools for recruits and usually does well.

I want Cutcliffe. He knows the sec and he has been crushing it at Duke. Historically we do well with former Duke HC's. Also, I think Roper has serious potential as an oc. I think this year he got a short straw given the fact that driskell needs a shrink and treon, for all his potential, is a true freshman.

That would be a very good hire, but only if he brings in some top notch recruiters.

Chip Kelly is -- to me -- the brightest offensive mind in football right now. If we could somehow steal him away from Philly, that would be ridiculous.

Other than him, I like Mullen, Sumlin, Spurrier, and patterson as my top choices.. in that order..

Steve Spurrier should get the first call. He is the one coach that could unify the Gator Nation. Bring him in with a solid 5 year plan to fix the problem and find a coach in waiting.

I dont think Steve is gonna abandon South Carolina the way this season has gone.

Jim Tressel would be my first choice. The guy knows how to win and develop talent. He's won at every level, including a national title and has put a ton of kids in the NFL. I don't think there's 5 other coaches with his pedigree. Tressel is on par with Saban and Meyer. He would be a huge hire. Plus his contract wont be $ prohibitive.

The naysayers will point to tattoo gate and his show cause but the Gators need a home run proven coach. Outside of Harbaugh and Chip Kelly, I can't think of better.

Maybe not, but he still should get the first call.

I like Tressel to but doesn't he have some sort of suspension as soon as he takes a college job? Like 5-6 games?

Five games, plus can't coach in the champion or bowl games. Also, his show clause has another year.

Not my first choice but why not Kerwin Bell?
Proven offensive coach, past Gator great, head coaching experience, knows the state and talent.

Bob Stoops is a big name and an okay option, I guess, but I don't think he would bring Florida back to the NC. He would win quite a few games, but I don't think he can reach the pinnacle anymore. His OU squads always seem to lose games they shouldn't, somewhat like Richt or modern-day Spurrier.
