Believe it is February 15. Could be wrong and would have to double check it.

Which I believe is after NSD, which is the 1st week of February.

Thomas has scholastic issues. That's why everyone is backing off.
We don't seem to have much of a relationship with Edwardsville. Epenesa would be a great get but Edwardsville has had some decent players in years past and Mizzou wasn't really on their radar for some reason.

Time to do so then. There is a number of high schools, all within close proximity of one another and most all of them considered the metro-east. Edwardsville. Belleville. Collinsville. O'Fallon. All put out a player from time to time, in addition to ESL. Hendrix was from O'Fallon. If you're going to develop relationships in the STL are, only makes sense to drive across the river too.

with Illini being worth nothing to those kids these days, you couldn't be more correct. We gave a good push for Hendrix (he wishes he had chosen us now), but there is a lot over there. all of southern illinois could be ours. Gabe megginson from Jacksonville, IL could have been a good one but a certain OL coach from Illini sold him pretty well on the education they get there.

I'm under the impression Mizzou is recruiting Jeff Thomas pretty hard. He is invited to everything and the coaches visit with him at the school. At least I think that is the vibe I remember from PM updates over the last year.
Regarding Epenesa, his dad played at Iowa, which is probably why they are considered the early favorite. We need to figure out a connection to Samoa somehow for future recruiting.

That was my first wondered when I saw Iowa already so favored. Did he have a connection to the school. There's the answer. Thanks.

Mizzou is very hard after Thomas.
Kid is a sophomore. Any academic issue has more than enough time to be ironed out. Don't know if any other schools are backing off, but Mizzou certainly isn't.

On the surface they all are as hope for grades come thru. Incredible athlete. Terrible academics. Illini, Mizou, Indiana have all pulled back behind the scenes.

As of a couple of weeks ago, when I spoke with someone that would surely know, Mizzou was still very actively recruiting Thomas and making him a top priority.
I would be very surprised if that changes. 1. Plenty of time to straighten out any academic issue. 2. Even if he didn't qualify, Mizzou has no problem placing kids they really want.
Also, as a side note, I heard Strong has a better chance to qualify than most think. His grades are good enough, provided he gets a good test score. Don't know how many chances he has to take it, but Id think a few.

I'm originally from Edwardsville... it's a funny town because no one is actually FROM Edwardsville... so, there are really no solid alliances to any one college. same thing with O'Fallon(being an air force town). The majority of the Edwardsville kids in the past haven't done much at all on the next level... just to note: the best player they had in the past 15-20 years did go to MIZZOU.. QB Jimmy Daugherty. oh yeah... their nickname is also the tigers...so we got that going for us as well.. lol

If you go to Kohl's in Fairview Heights, you can't even find MIZZOU gear.
Gordman's has a ton though.
Just thought it was odd for Kohl's to be so close to STL and only have Illini clothing. Maybe it has changed since I last looked.
MIZZOU needs to play a game is STL to ramp up support. The Busch Stadium idea with Ark St. would have been great.

Living here my whole life. I would say Mizzou support and visibility are at an all time high in STL.

I agree. Seeing the MIZZOU gear throughout the city is great. I saw a lot of people on the road headed for CoMO for the Lipscomb game. I was talking more specifically the Metro-East and making recruiting relations there.
It is mostly Air Force transplants over here. I'm one of them, but originally from MO.

There is no question about that. At least for my 45 years of living. And the Kohl's here has Mizzou gear. It would be nice to at least get some into the metro-east area.
But there is more coverage in the media, more Mizzou clothing being worn around town, more memorabilia being shown than any time I can remember. Just need to extend a bit of that into the metro east.

In honor of the celebration of my mother, the late Khristy Barnes, I will be officially committing on her birthday which is May 17th...
Someone tell me what is up with this guy? I don't even think he has a Mizzou offer.
