What would have happened if UGA had actually bitten the AU player?

Before I start I'd like to say that I love live animal mascots so even if I don't care for UGA the team I'm all for UGA the dog.
Anyway, I know it produced an iconic SEC image (seen below) and UGA fans obviously cherish it, but has it ever been discussed what would have happened if he had actually bitten the AU player? I'd hate to think what it would have meant for UGA and any other live mascots overall. I want to say about Houston and Wisconsin used to have live animals but they were too difficult to control.
And yes, this is close to an off-season type thread.. but what can I say.. I'm waiting for basketball season to start along with our fellow SEC blue-blood program the Kentucky Wildcats.

He would've been put down. Symbolic because it's what Richt is slowly doing to their football program.

UGA would have died from AIDS.

The poor dog could have gotten rabies.
Or the aids,
Or the aids,

I like Uga (the Bulldog) as well but I'm a bit partial to hounds and Smokey is one fine Tennessee hound IMO.
I think Uga was just giving the player a warning chomp...nothing serious.

One of the cops in the stadium would have shot UGA on the spot.

It would be kinda funny if a team did have a Chihuahua for a mascot but they would have to be almost masochistic to do so.

What would have happened? Probably the same thing that happened when Auburn's eagle mascot bit a Florida player: a sensational news story and nothing more.
Auburn mascot attacks Florida player

Pretty sure there's a difference between a bulldog and an eagle.
