There are a lot of strange statistics surrounding the Bama/State game, wanted to compile them all. Feel free to add and I'll try to update the post.

- State and Alabama will meet for the 99th time Saturday.
- Alabama has never beaten a #1 team in BDS.
- State has never beaten a ranked Alabama team in BDS.
- Saban has never scored a TD in the 1Q the game following LSU.
- Mullen has never scored a TD in the 1Q against Alabama.
- A Saban team has never given up 100 rushing yards to a QB.
- State has never been 10-0.
- Mullen has never beaten Alabama.
- No SEC team this year, other than State, has won the week after playing LSU.
- State has never lost a game when ranked #1.
- No SEC team has won on the road in Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge, in the same season, since State did it in 1957.
- State hasn't won the SEC or went undefeated since it did both in 1941.
- Saban is 13-1 against State.
- State has 32 sacks this season, averaging 3.56 per game.
- Sims has only been sacked 6 times total this season.
- Bama has been the Vegas favorite in 62 straight games.
- State has 3 starters who were rated higher than a 3 star recruit. Alabama has 2 starters who were rated lower than a 4 star recruit.
- State leads the nation with 11 different players catching TD passes.
- Bama is 2-6 with gameday in town, losing those six games by a total of 21 points.

All joking aside, it should shape up to be a great game. Looking forward to seeing two physical teams battle it out.

It's gonna be a badass game. There's no doubt, I've never been so excited for a Bama/miss st game. It's cool to see Bama/Miss St battle it out for the west title.

First one of your threads I will upvote. Interesting stuff. Surprised Bama has never defeated a #1 in BDS.

Saw on ESPN that Bama is 3-1 under Saban versus #1 teams in past 5 years and has gone like 62 straight games as the Vegas favorite. Have placed 32 players in the NFL since they were last an underdog.

Should be a good game. Little scared of any team repped by Stone.

I'm not sure but I believe Bama has the only given up 6 sacks this year but only two of those were Sims. I might be wrong.

Key to the game is whether Bama's run defense will stop MSU's run game with Dak and Josh Robinson. I do not believe MSU's passing game will be enough to win by itself - just because it is Bama. Ragland will not let Dak get 30 yds IMHO - Bama's defense is tooled to stop the inside run and Dak does not run wide like Marshall...

and Cooper will have 150+ yds in this game. Playing at home in front of the home folk...

just sayin. Have a Great Day!

Unless something has changed and now there's a non-SEC referee crew officiating this game...I feel good about Bama's chances.

Doesn't Bama claim the NC in 1941?

I realize that Bama's really good at home but I'm surprised that y'all aren't favored in this game

Yes, State was undefeated and won the SEC, cancelled their postseason play to support the war efforts.

Sure do; they lost to State & didn't win the SEC; but, why let that get in the way?

MSU has only scored 6.8 points per meeting with Alabama since Mullens has been the HC.
