I am excited for this game. If the D shows up, UF shouldn't have much to worry about.

This is true. SC's defense is terrible.

Going to be a tough game. USCe is better than their 4-5 record indicates.

If they hadn't blown 3 two TD 4th quarter leads they'd be 7-2.

Hopefully UF doesn't have to mount a huge comeback to win this one.

Huge comeback? Is our D terrible iyo? Thompson will Thompson and shite when UF gets pressure on him. I think UF wins the turnover margin by 2-3 and will win by 2 possessions, at least.

USce has only lost one game this season by double digits. That was the TAMU game where they got blitzkrieged by the TAMU's uptempo offense.

Since then, they have been tied or lead in every other game they have played late in the game. They are 3 blown fourth quarter two TD leads from being 7-2 and leading the SEC east.

IF UF wins by 2 TD's, without a total epic collapse from USCe, I will be SHOCKED.

What do you consider an epic collapse? Turning it over? Defense has a lot to do with that. I think UF's defense will dictate this game. They have blown leads to Tennessee and Kentucky. Spare me the 7-2 bullshite. UF lost a lot of close games last yr with tons of starters out, but I'm not throwing out hypotheticals for a 4-8 finish. SCe was overhyped going into this season and are still overhyped by some today. They aren't a good football team.

Made a lunch bet with a coworker that USC wouldn't score over 24.

Did I fail here?

If the D shows up, you made a good bet.

I think it's gonna be around 31-20 UF.

USC shouldn't score too much unless we have 3 score lead in the 4th qt and Boom sends in a lot of reserves and we play prevent defense...the only thing it will prevent is making the defense look as good as it should.

Only have to protect the ball on offense....don't give it away and we win...simple as that.

I hear what you are saying, but given how the games have gone for them this year, with only the one early season blow out, I don't see why Florida is going to suddenly beat them by two or more scores.

The team has been wildly inconsistent over the course of the season. I'd like to believe that they have settled in now, but I just don't have the confidence to believe they can do to South Carolina what Auburn failed to do at home.

Not that Auburn is all that great, but they are certainly better than Florida. (not on defense, but I doubt UF scores anywhere near 42).

I guess I just don't understand the optimism. USce has scored more than 28 points in every single game except one - against Missouri - who actually has a pretty good defense only giving up 19 PPG right now.

UF's defense has been good, but not exactly dominant this year.

USCe is probably going to score some points unless they shite the bed.

I bet UF gets a lot closer to 42 against SCe's defense and SCe does against UF's d. The odds are much much higher. The secondary has improved over the duration of the year and the blown coverages/suckage at safety is a lot less when Gorman is sitting over on the sidelines.

How has the D looked now that the O is somewhat competent?

I won't be confident about UF until we put some solid games together. UGA got the trap game curse, we were lucky to catch Tennessee early in the year (I would not want to play them again next week) and we've done very little outside of that.

Except take Kentucky to 3OT, get blown out on homecoming (again), shite the bed vs. LSU and get absolutely annihilated against Alabama.

Spurrier is no joke coaching, and I just have no idea what team shows up tomorrow -- for either side.

USC has porous defense...pretty good offense...I know which one means the most in winning. Again, our early struggles is directly tied to turnovers and lack of execution...such as Bama game where safety play surprised even Muschamp.
He knew that the safety positions were a weaker link in the defense...but it was weaker than he thought..he corrected it with personnel changes.

Our defense will make USC throw on almost every down and that's not good for them. Dante Fowler, Ball, McCallister & Co should be in the backfield a lot making life miserable for USC QB.

As long as we protect the ball we are pure.
