Starting at 5:30 tomorrow, both the women and men's basketball teams will play a game in Coleman Coliseum. The women open the season at 5:30 against Florida A&M while the men play Towson at 8. I know a lot of you will be on campus by 5:30 tomorrow so why not go support both basketball programs to open the season? A ticket to one event allows you to see both games, so I would advise purchasing a woman's ticket online instead of the men to save yourself about 8 dollars per ticket.

Anthony Grant says that Michael Kessens (hernia) and Jeff Garrett (wisdom teeth) are "doubtful" for tomorrow's @AlabamaMBB opener vs. Towson

@CecilHurt 1m1 minute ago
Grant also listed guards Ricky Tarrant and Retin Obasohan as "probable" for the lineup against Towson.

Tarrant (lower leg) and Obasohan (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday.

"We were able to practice yesterday and Ricky and Retin, we're going to list as probable," Grant said. "They were able to go through some things (Wednesday) in practice. If everything goes as expected, they'll be probable for the game tomorrow."

Grant said Kessens is doubtful. He has had scarring issues from a hernia surgery last season.

"He's still progressing nicely," Grant siad. "No setbacks, but obviously we're going to make sure that before we put any of those guys on the court, we're going to make sure they're ready to go."

Grant said freshman Jeff Garrett had some wisdom teeth pulled on Tuesday and is doubtful for Friday's game. Garrett scored one point against Montevallo, but had some key defensive contributions late.

"(We're) giving him a chance to heal from that surgery, so he'll be probably doubtful for tomorrow," Grant said.

Just curious, on average how many Bama basketball games would you say you watch or attend every year?

Not ridiculous. That same Montevallo team lost to Kentucky by less than 15 points last year in an exhibition. Didn't UAH take us to doubt OT the year we went to the tourney?
The reason you are optimistic is because there really were a lot of positive signs on Monday night. Good play by a lot of guys. The problem tends to be progression under this regime. The good news is that Hale, Taylor, and Randolph all look improved. In years past, most guys looked the same year to year, except Relly. Hard to consider your optimism ridiculous when I thought we showed a lot of good things. Still need to limit silly turnovers, and grab more D rebounds.

Never been to a basketball game on the day before a home football game before. Anyone know if parking is still free?

Also, first time being a student for a game. Anything I have to do to reserve a ticket or just show up with my ACT card?

Thanks!

Park near the Jack's on the street. I did that for every single game when I was a student. And just take your ACT card to the student entrance.
