There have been a ton of classics between these storied programs, not near enough space or time to recap them all. But here are some in the last few decades, including most of the ones in recent time.

1982- UGA 19 Auburn 14. This last second deflection in the endzone helped secure UGA's 3rd straight SEC title and a trip to the sugar bowl

1983- AU 13 UGA 7. Bo Jackson helps end UGA's streak of 3 straight SEC titles with one for Auburn

1986- UGA 20 AU 16. Georgia secured the win on the plains and jubilant fans rushed the field. AU personnel began to douse the fans with hoses, then turned them into the stands. The infamous "game between the hoses"

1992 UGA 14 AU 10. UGA was pretty good and would end with 10 wins. AU had a late drive but when Stan White tried a keep at the goal line and didn't get it, UGA players remained on the ground. Refs couldn't get the ball lined up in time and time ran out for AU.

1996 UGA 56 AU 49. The first OT game in SEC history went for 4 periods, and included a furious 2nd half comeback by UGA and Mike Bobo hitting corey allen on a bomb in the last play of regulation to send it to OT.

2000 AU 29 UGA 26. Not as thrilling as 1996, but it was the 2nd OT game in the series and featured Rudi Johnson plunging in late for the win.

2001 AU 24 UGA 17. Richt's first DSOR, UGA had the ball on the goal line late, but after a run with no timeouts left the clock ran out. Shades of 1992.

2002 UGA 24 AU 21. UGA's first east title.

2003 UGA 26 AU 7. Game was never in doubt, UGA wins 2nd straight east title.

2004 AU 24 UGA 6. Auburn dominates on the way to an undefeated season.

2005 AU 31 UGA 30. Thrilling game in DJ Shockley's return from injury. Back and forth the whole way, AU capitalizes on a safety miscue on 4th down for a long gain and a game winning FG.

2006 UGA 37 AU 15. #5 Auburn still had title hopes while hapless UGA came in losers of 4 of their last 5. Brandon Cox completed as many passes to UGA DBs as AU WRs.

2007 UGA 45 AU 20. The infamous blackout. AU kept it close for a half but ultimately couldn't keep up. One of the crazier atmospheres in Sanford ever.

2008 UGA 17 AU 13. Pretty lackluster game really.

2009 UGA 31 AU 24. Close game that wasn't decided until AU's last effort of the game fell short, helped by a jarring hit by Bacarri Rambo on a receiver that would've scored the tying touchdown.

2010 AU 49 UGA 31. Heavy underdog UGA kept it close for about 3 quarters but in the end Cam was too much to handle as AU would continue towards an undefeated season.

2011 UGA 45 AU 7. UGA got payback on a bad auburn squad.

2012 UGA 38 AU 0. This could have been much worse but UGA let off the gas in the 3rd quarter.

2013 auburn won.

I'm excited to see what this year has in store!

I like the lack of detail from this game. Good thing is no one that had anything to do with this play is on the roster/payroll.

2005 stands out to me... two really good teams and a hell of a game.

Was this the one where Goff (I think it was Goff) was yelling at his team to stay down?

Yep. Auburn was lined up to run a play.

But the OT game was worse. We sac Bobo and the refs stopped the clock and let them run another play and scored. Total BS.

1999 was a good one too. Shocked everyone really, including me.

2006 like so many an Auburn game where you get burned by a nobody QB or Wr only to find out in time they were pretty good. Makes me wonder about TAM and their QB KA. If you are good and making your debut, Auburn is a good place to play.

Nice stories - good job.

I've always loved watching this rivalry.

2005 is one of my all time favorites. The bomb to Aromashadu that set up the FG. The atmosphere in Athens after that game was a graveyard.

Old georgia fans, looking at Wikipedia history if the series and it shows from 1983 to 1990 Auburn went on a 7 out of 8 run, what was going on with Georgia then? Were they bad Georgia teams or just good Auburn teams?

The 1988 one was my first cfb game. The 1996 one was my first as a student and I wish you would take those pics down because they're making it look like it was a long long time ago.

Of all of the people who played in that 1996 game...

Coach Craig is still in good shape.

Vs

Coach Bobo comes in second though

probably both. AU was fairly good in the mid to late 80s (wasn't 88 one of yalls really good teams?) and we were just kinda wandering the desert after our 80-83 stretch.

It's amazing to me we held our own in the 90s considering it was goff and donnan at the helm.

I was thinking more of that SECCG a couple of years ago vs 'Bama.

I thought my buddy was gonna get his arse beat that night. Walking around with his hat out telling UGA fans he was collecting rent. Seeing how we haven't won since, I should smack the shite out of him.

funny that in a civil thread between UGA and AU fans the first troll response would be from a cock.

And those 2 situations aren't remotely the same anyway.

yeah 05 was bad, especially knowing afterward that tra had a concussion and didn't know what he was supposed to do on teh play.

It was one of those games to me that I didn't necessarily get mad, just disappointed. Both teams played SO well and it was such a great football game, it's a shame we lost like that. DJ and Pope played their hearts out that night.
