Question for Tiger fans (that I haven't seen discussed)

On the 4th and 10 from your own 25, why did y'all attempt a 25-yard pass to the endzone when ten would have been sufficient?
I just don't get the playcalling. I know y'all have been bitching about it lately, but that's almost too bad to make excuses for. That's not even the QB's fault.
Why hasn't this been discussed?

The qb would have easily gotten the 1st down with his feet.

Sophomore jitters, but still. Jennings panicked, plain and simple.

That is a toss up whether or not he would. Those LB's had closed on him quickly with their adjustments.

All four downs LSU was trying to win it on one play. Jennings and Cameron/Miles are all equally to blame, they should have been more composed and methodical.

The proper call right there IMO is to call a timeout, settle your guys down, and call the best play you've got. They were shell shocked

I'm sure our coaching staff had a want for the open option ten yards down the field to receive the pass, but it lends itself to believe that the read on the play was obvious to make an attempt at the endzone.
Seriously... good question. If you noticed, the QB didn't "read" anything all night. There was no progression through receivers. He had it predetermined where to go all night. I don't think the coaching staff was telling him where to go with the ball. Maybe they should from here on out.

Because my accuracy is not good for ten yards. Why in the frick do you ask Tiger fans this question when you know not a single one of the Tiger fans actually threw the football.
Let me ask you why did ya'll fumble the ball inside your own 10 with less than 3 minutes to go in the game. Would it have not been sufficient to hang onto the ball and try to drive it downfield?

Regardless of what was called he should have ran for the first down. He had half the field clear and could have gotten at least 15 yds.

We have a someone playing the QB position that can't tie his shoes without instructions from the sidelines.

You are assuming the play went as scripted...take the snap, stand in the pocket for 3 or 4 seconds, look scared, run right, backwards, back left, then heave a prayer into the EZ. I doubt that was the plan.

Yep, just watched it on SECN, he had wide open space in front and still threw it

This is a good point.
I don't remember specifically; what were the play calls on second and third down?

it probably wasn't a designed 25 yard pass
the WRs released from their routes once Jennings started to scramble

Yep, he lost situational awareness. Not a good sign.

LSU had lost all the momentum heading into the OT and it showed. It was a pretty sorry possession all around for Cam Cameron. Reminded me of Bama's offensive showing in the OT in 2011 LSU-Bama part 1.
