2 team scenario: Alabama wins out, MSU's only loss to Alabama

1 team scenarios: MSU wins out, or Alabama wins out and MSU loses to Ole Miss

0 team scenarios: MSU loses twice, Alabama loses once, SEC title game is a match up of two 2 loss teams and the East team wins.

It really is possible for the SEC to get no teams in, but if nobody from the West can have less than two losses, and the West champ loses in the SEC championship game, none of those seasons are worthy of a national championship anyway. If you don't like it, switch conferences.

With 5 "major" conferences and only 4 slots, it's clear at least 1 conference will get none in.

The SEC will get the benefit of the doubt if it's even, but if every other conference has undefeated teams and teams with 1 loss, a 2 loss SEC champion will be a tough sell.

Particularly if those 2 losses are ugly, like Missouri's or Georgia's.

maybe not by SEC standards, but if you honestly think a two loss SEC west team doesn't deserve to get in over an undefeated FlState, or one loss from any other conference, well I don't know what to say.

There might be four teams who would go undefeated in any other conference, and probably 6 who would only have one loss. This is true
