The really sad thing about people who complain about officiating...

...or injuries or field conditions or luck after a loss is that, while they may actually be sincere, their primary motive for posting it on a message board is an attempt to suck the pleasure out of the win for the other team. They ignore any possible factors in their own favor while placing undue emphasis on possible factors in their opponent's favor, and argue until they're blue in the face that the other team's fans should be ashamed of these factors.
That's pretty much the hoped-for result. They can't change the outcome, so they make themselves feel batter by screaming out "You shouldn't feel good about this win because your team didn't deserve it!" And that's just pathetically petty.

In other words, human nature.

I'm just appreciative that a large portion of the Alabama faithful have been upfront in saying that they were gifted the game and that LSU was better

Why are you on the Rant if you aren't trying to do this, at least to a lesser extent?

Still enjoying the win against UGA last year, I see.

It is having the opposite effect

I've seen it, at minimum, 5 different posters admitting it.
None of the shitty gimps doing that but I hardly expected them to

I'm still enjoying all three of the wins against UT, UGA, and UF. They keep me warm when I'm contemplating the inevitable clutch of death's cold embrace at some point in the future.

For some it probably is but for others it could just be that we are tired of SEC officiating being so bad. I haven't tried to suck the win out of anything today (...well there might've been one or two calls that went BYE's way that shouldn't have... ;) ) or even complained about it today but I haven't been pleased with the officiating in this league for the past 2+ years.
Pitifully bad officiating has been going on across the league lately and we honestly deserve better - the teams, players and fans. Lord knows this conference has the money and it hasn't always been this way.

The money and the officiating go hand in hand

I'm more appreciative of the greater number of LSU fans who aren't acting like babies and blaming it on the ref.

The sec refs suck.
This week, last week, last year, 8 years ago. The sec is a clown show when.it comes to officiating.

They weren't great last night. They were bad for both teams evenly

Don't get me wrong -- I'm good with some trolling. I'm probably the most uppity Vandy fan on the Rant in that regard (if any other Vandy fans want to challenge that assertion, there's a Sonic just down the road from my house. Name the time.) But there's a palpable difference between some trolling and making every effort imaginable to cheapen the opponent's victory for them. And, yes, it does bother some people, else there wouldn't be so many Auburn fans starting threads about 'luck' or Bama fans rebutting the accusations of official cheating. Seriously, after a game is in the books, trying to make yourself feel better by tearing the other team down suggests you need to go into the games with higher self-esteem.

That, I'm down with. SEC refs suck. Let's burn down the Head Offices and calmly discuss our options here.
But, then, from what I've seen, refs everywhere seem to suck. I honestly can't think of a conference where I'd immediately say, "I wish we had their refs." Has there ever been an era, or a conference, or a level (pee-wee, high school, college, pro, arena, bikini, etc) where people didn't think the refs sucked?

You should have just said LSU fans are petty.

Well, A&M won on Saturday and I'm still going to say the refs sucked arse. Myles Garrett was held/tackled so many times it really was getting pathetic. Someone must of made a call, because they finally called a holding penalty 4th play of their first 2nd half drive.

its been a terrible year for SEC officiating. Like, sun belt bad. All that TV money should be able to pay for better officiating

Some of them are. Not all. But some of pretty much every fanbase are petty. They're just the latest.
