Pretty good write-up on what is considered legal and what is not.

The best part was CamRob jumping up like he was going to take a screen pass to the house like Yeldon

You have a few gadget plays like that you expect to work once and once only so you save them for extremely critical situations, like OT on the road in a big game.

Really should have gone for a TD.

Heck with the penalty the net result was just +10 yards.

LSU ran that play against Ohio St in the national championship game in 2007. Worked for a TD. Good play call.

However, it's questionable at best whether Bama's WR next to Cam is on the LOS. And what wasn't questionable at all was that Bama wasn't set for a full second after the shift. Henry never got set near the Bama sideline. None of that changes that LSU wouldn't have covered it anyway, but rules are rules.

Its close, too close to actually throw a flag there. If you wanna blame a call blame the PIs in OT or the Personal Foul near the endzone after the Yeldon fumble, not this.

Do the refs still like to have prior notice of this type play?

I seriously thought Greene was gonna fumble that ball at the end.

Those are judgement calls that can go either way a lot of times. This is something that a referee is specifically assigned to watch for and the rule is cut and dry. That crew had a worse game than Anthony Jennings last night...several missed calls for both teams.

Not possible, I was told by Nick that they don't do trick football.

I didn't even know the guy who caught the ball was on the team!

Referees miss dozens of calls every game. Most fan bases are able to get over it, but the further a fanbase's perception of their team's status differs from reality, the more likely they are to don tinfoil hats after every loss. Anybody complaining about SEC refs being the worst doesn't watch much college football. Other conferences have even worse officials.

I agree, and I get it on the PIs. But the personal foul should have offset or just not been called. Bama players and LSU players were shoving all night, but they wait til the 4th in a key situation to call one?

They do miss calls in every game. But when they call a game changing ticky tack personal foul against one team I certainly expect them to call a cut and dry procedural penalty during OT

You mean like the one they called on Bama in overtime?

Or the fact that brown hit the LSU player in ot before the whistle ever blew. Calls were missed both ways but neither of the last two plays were PI. Why don't you blame your player for dropping a sure 10 or 15 yards on the 1 st play of ot or wAs that the refs fault too? I swear LSU fans act like they never benefit from a questionable call. One of you morons actually complained about the interception before the half as if Bama should have been flagged.

Game changing?

LSU wasn't going to find the endzone on that drive and the kicker hit his FG anyway.

Thing is, Bama had a few very good plays drawn up that just weren't executed by Blake Sims. The one early in the game to a wide open White was a great play call.
