He hasn't performed well on the camp circuit and seems you are bringing in other TEs?

Maybe, but I honestly think it would be more Saban's decision. Hentges seemed pretty enamored with him when he committed. Even played the whole "sign from god" thing.

We are bringing in other tight ends? News to me.

Hale Hentges was meh on the camp circuit, but he has had a record setting year at his high school. We lose Vogler this year and have been thin at TE so much so that we have moved a defensive end to TE this year to provide depth. I highly doubt we would process Hentges.

This. The kid is putting up huge numbers this season. The camp circuit ended months ago. Where do people come up with this shite?

Bro, didn't you know they are going to start playing Saturday's with shorts and 2 hand touch? Clearly a huge part of hentges game is his run after the catch with power as well as his straight line speed. We don't need a receiving TE. Howard will fill that role for 2 more years. We need someone to replace Vogler as a great blocker and a physical guy off the line. Would like for him to be faster and be more of a threat in the passing game than brian Vogler but we need hentges' blocking and physicality for this class

Rivals is reporting it, Mizzou fans didn't just make it up. No idea if it will happen or not, but what we've heard is he got back in contact with Mizzou and is deciding if he wants to look around at the risk of losing his scholarship with you guys. Mizzou fans have considered him gone for a long time, so this news came out of nowhere.

Hold on. Rivals is reporting that he's looking around or that he's been told to look around? What exactly are they reporting?

Alabama hasn't exactly used the TEs much in the passing game, despite Kiffin having a history of great numbers from the TE spot. I figured this might happen.

Rivals just said he was thinking about Mizzou and that it's a fluid situation but not to count us out just yet. They were pretty coy with their choice of words.

This was posted later in the thread by a board member, not a Rivals employee so that it FWIW.

My Helias source says the hold is Hale needs to call Coach Saban. There is a feeling if a call about "looking around" occurs he may get his scholly pulled. He will want to be pretty sure that he wants to switch inorder for him to make that call and risk losing his spot at bama.

Absolutely no mention of this on TOS's or other TE's being looked at, with the exception of Deandre McNeil, who as a HB, would not play the same position. As with any player, they are free game until signing day...........

Hentges had 5 catches for 102 yards and 2 TD in the half. Faddoul was 7 of 11 for 165 yards and 2 TD, also ran for 64 yards and one.

Those are first half stats for Hentges. Kid is solid.

And from the second half:

Weston Porter runs in from 16 and Helias is up 47-0 at 11:40 4Q. Hale Hentges made a ridiculous one-handed 34-yard catch to set it up.

The one thing that doesn't make sense is the part about us bringing in more TEs. We're not. We've had Jalen Harris visit, but he isn't going anywhere but Auburn. We might have Clarington visit, but that is a pipe dream. I can't think of anyone else that fits the traditional TE role the way Hentges does.

I'm not buying there's a whole lot to this. Hentges told a Missouri reporter that he is still solid to Bama but he gets along with the Mizzou staff really well and will talk to them whenever they want to talk. His high school is right in Columbia's backyard so it's not like anyone needs to go out of their way to talk to the other.

It's like bumping into an ex at the grocery store. If we lived on opposite sides of the country and managed to be at the same grocery store, my wife might have some concerns. But since we live within miles of each other, it's not that unusual to bump into her at the grocery store. Well, other than the fact that it's become a regular thing. Every Friday night. Nope. Nothing here to see.

TE's don't usually start early for our offenses. If he has the size, work ethic, and ability to transition to a weapon in 2 years then im sure the coaches will keep him aboard.
