Since we have a better shot at climbing the CFB playoff ladder than winning the West, here's a list of games to keep an eye on that could help our cause.

Teams we should pull for in bold.

#4 Oregon @ #17 Utah - Would knock the Pac-12 out of the playoff picture completely.

#14 Ohio State @ #8 Michigan State - A Buckeye win would likely knock the B1G out of the playoff race.

#7 Kansas St. @ #6 TCU - TCU has a relatively easy road to 11-1 if they beat KSU this weekend, which could solidify a spot in the playoff for them. Need Synder big time here.

#10 Notre Dame @ #9 ASU - Arizona State is overrated by the committee, but if they can beat ND, it will knock ND out of the playoff discussion. ASU will lose again this season (Pac-12 title game, @ Zona).

OSU beating MSU MAY put them back in the hunt. In a perfect world Penn State would upset MSU. But at the same time we for sure need MSU to lose and OSU is a locked to jump up so go Buckeyes

Yeah it's not ridiculous. However, the committee doesn't respect tOSU very much based on their current ranking - Jeff Long basically laughed at their loss home loss to Va Tech on ESPN during the first week's playoff show. To me that implied they have little to no chance.

I think 10-2 Ole Miss (a loss to 9-3 LSU and 11-1 Alabama) would definitely get the nod over 12-1 tOSU (only quality wins are vs. Michigan St.).

I hope all these things happen. This year was probably the easiest to reach ATL/NC

Both of these games work for us either way.

In the SEC, we also want:

aTm to beat Auburn (haha)
LSU to Beat Bama

Correct?

I would argue the ND/ASU is less consequential. TCU winning definitely hurts if you look at their remaining schedule:

Sat, Nov 15 @ Kansas
Thu, Nov 27 @ Texas
Sat, Dec 6 vs Iowa State

IMO, 11-1 TCU has a good resume for the playoff (wins over Oklahoma, Kansas St.). Kansas St. still has to play @ Baylor later this season, and Baylor is unstoppable in Waco.

Notre Dame is a better than ASU and more likely to run the table. Knocking them out this weekend would be big for the SEC.

Haha. We would want UGA to beat Auburn next week for sure.

This is the only chance we have @ the West. I'm not really worried about it, tho. I think Alabama winning the West @ 11-1 would be a good resume builder if we finish 10-2 (and bedlam happens nationally like I posted in the OP).

Yes. If aTm falters, we still do have a shot with UGA and Bama coming through. LSU basically has to beat Bama though.

I could dig a tOSU upset, and I think the whole SEC would like KState to win the Big XII at this point, and for WV to do as well as possible

West Virginia does host Kansas St as well later this year.

The SEC really needs KSU this weekend.

Ok so with auburn losing to aTm... we need bama to lose one more time, auburn to lose one more, lsu to lose one more and state to lose 2

so wouldnt our best shot be bama beating lsu and state and losing to auburn..
auburn losing to georgia.. and us beating state and arkansas

I can't root for LSU. I'm cheering for Bama while telling myself it makes our win look better.

Im so pumped Auburn lost. If FSU, Oregon, Bama, or TCU loses it will be a very successful week for us
