I has a sad. I really wanted him to come back strong.
Even if it's not football, he'll probably succeed in any work he does in life.

Lattimore plans to return to the University of South Carolina to complete his degree and will continue to work with his foundation, the Marcus Lattimore Foundation / DREAMS, which supports youth sports programs in the state of South Carolina.
Good for him.

Yeah, GTFO here what those sorts of statements.
That's not even near reality.

I know we will be seeing great things from him. Sky is the limit for him.

best of luck to the young man. I hope he shines at whatever he decides to do.
I had written something that I heartily meant.. I said I hope he is as good a person as I think him to be, and then this:
I will be a fan for life. He gets it.

I'd choose the millions. Kids just wanna play CoD anyway.

Heartbroken for the kid. Probably the player I've respected the most to come out of USC. Hope he succeeds at whatever he ends up doing.

I lol'd irl.
Glad hes back to finish his degree. I'm hoping he can get around the team and help motivate them and be a GA after he finishes his degree. Lattimore is a great guy to just have around the program

Just to continue on the Lattimore lovefest I'll always remember this story, post 2010 game in the Swamp, just won the SEC East where Lattimore had 200+ yards.
Also this
CBS Story right after his 2nd injury
quote:
A Columbia church asked Lattimore to speak on Nov. 14, 2010, the morning after the Gamecocks were playing Florida. Lattimore carried the ball 40 times for 212 yards and three touchdowns to help the Gamecocks beat Florida 36-14 to clinch the school's first SEC East title -- and sure enough, on Sunday morning Lattimore was at the church.
Oh, that game on Saturday? It was in Gainesville, Fla. Maybe Lattimore slept a few hours on the plane home. Maybe not. All I know is, he spoke at the church on Sunday morning.
Also this
quote:
This kind: He's from the northwest part of South Carolina known as the Upstate, and last year he heard about another USC student from the Upstate who was badly injured after being hit by a car. Unprompted and uninvited, Lattimore showed up at the kid's hospital room. Just to check on the kid and visit with the family. The only reason anyone found out was because the kid's mother gushed about it on social media. Lattimore's coaches found out from reporters.
Lattimore didn't tell his coaches what he was doing because, well, sometimes they stop him -- and not because his coaches are heartless. That's not the point of this anecdote. The point is, his coaches try to limit his volunteering engagements because Lattimore spreads himself thin.

The injury was too much to overcome. Never got a carry.
I guess I could look this up, but I'm interested in how he's eligible for retirement after two seasons. I thought you had to be active on a roster for four years.
Will he still get his insurance payout for the devastating injury?
Just morbidly curious. I wish the young man the best and hope he was able to manage his affairs in a way that guarantees his financial stability.
