Tried to post this on the MSU board, but I don't have access.

State fans, I recently had the opportunity to catch up with Zaire and Quincy and speak with them about their commitments.

Here is the link if you wish to read it: LINK

These two guys can really play. I see them every Friday night, and as an LSU fan, I was hoping Les and co. would get into the mix on Zaire.

Zaire is not overly big -- he's still just 16 -- but that dude will lay people out. A true intimidator in the secondary. Good enough speed as well. Delivered one of the biggest hits I've ever seen in a game before against Quitman HS earlier this season.

Quincy is just an athlete. Quincy's dad is a coach of a local youth football team -- he comes from a strong background. Two weeks ago against Brandon HS, he hauled in two long TD passes. He wants to play corner, and I agree he can be very good there.

Most of all, these two guys are great kids. Zaire a little more vocal than Quincy and probably a bit more of a leader, but both worked hard to earn these offers.

Thanks for the update.

yeah, we knew a good bit about Zaire already, but very little about Quincy. At this point, we've learned to just not question this staff on guys that they decide to take early regardless, because it usually ends up with us looking foolish after a couple of years at MSU...

Meridian seems to be pretty loaded next year. Rumor is we're trying really hard to get back in it with Raekwon as well...

Pretty good piece.

I assume you live in Meridian as well since you write for the Star?
