We were never going to make a serious run without Howard. I am optimistic that he will come back completely healthy, and we will be super deadly. The word is really good so far.

We have no rim protector and no one to really clean up the glass. That is what makes our record so impressive thus far and why Hardin is still the MVP at this point.

That 2 seed in the west was short lived though

We never realy had a shot with the injuries and the difficulty of our schedule vs Memphis. Plus, thanks to that blown call vs Memphis we lost the tiebreaker.

It's too bad because I like the matchup with the Mavs a lot better than SA. I also like the idea of SA and Memphis slugging it out and the Rockets having home court vs the winner if they were to beat Dallas.

Memphis still has to play the Warriors and the Clips. Those are both a good possibility of a loss for the Griz. But we have OKC and San Antonio twice. The division race is going to go down to the wire for sure

While it'd be a dogfight with MEM fo sho, I think we could put 'em away in five if we round into our playoff form like we have been. SA is the better team and I don't think the Grizz can score with us, which they'll have to in order to win, IMO.

That matchup appeals to me the most if I had to choose. No telling how the records will end up tho.

And Dallas on a back to back which means no Dwight. Plus NO who's given us some problems.

I think things hold pat. Rox vs Spurs then Rox vs Griz after they take care of Mavs. That means GS's road is thunder and blazers/clips, likely clips if I had to guess.

If the Rockets get the Spurs, a win could be huge for confidence. Beating a soft team nobody has any expectations for won't help in the second round.

DAMN!, I just realized 2 things that I already knew but had forgotten about;

1. Its been a VERY long time since the Rockets and Spurs played in a playoff game.

&

2. David Robinson got played like a drum in that game.

It really has. Matter of fact, Tbird you will probably know better than I do, but are the Rockets the only Western Conference team that Timmy has yet to play against in the playoffs? I think he has played against everybody else (which is a crazy thought to think about)

Not even close. Maybe the only WCT that has multiple playoff appearances.

Since that time:

Houston: 1 title

SA: 5 titles

Y'all have not tasted the wrath of playoff Timmy

Teams that Duncan has faced at least once in the playoffs from the Western Conference (just pulling up the playoff brackets on wikipedia from each season in Duncan's career)

Seattle
Portland
Golden State
LA Lakers
Sacramento
Phoenix
Minnesota
Dallas
New Orleans
Memphis
Denver
Utah
LA Clippers
Oklahoma City

Looks like Houston is the only team he has never faced, which is amazing to me. Timmy

Yeah HOU is the only Western team Tim hasn't faced in the postseason. Every other team he's faced and beaten at least once, if memory serves. Pretty crazy.

Thought we were gonna get an I-10 series last year but Lillard effed it up
