He's having season ending surgery on his shoulder this week.

Won't even get to dress for senior day? That sucks

Figured. Sucks he went out this way, but Dobbs has provided a much needed spark of optimism within the fanbase.
Worley was tough as hell though.

Worley may have been a great QB in a different system, just wasn't suited well for Butch's offense.
Hell of a guy though, hope he coaches or gets picked up in the NFL (unlikely now). Definitely should get the full support from Volnation. He left it all on the field.

There is one small glimmer of hope for Worley getting a medical redshirt but it is small:
Tennessee, we were told, may explore submitting medical hardship papers on behalf of Worley, who not only has never had a redshirt season but also never even took an official visit during the recruiting process.
While the odds certainly are long that Tennessee could win the appeal, its case could be bolstered by the assertion than Worley may have been unknowingly playing with the injury prior to the midpoint of the Vols' season.

If he did get a medical redshirt and became Dobbs' backup he'd have a better shot at catching on with a team like Simms has managed to do. Worley showed a lot of improvement from last year to this year and another year of development could help him find a role.
It would be nice if he could've gone out differently. I hate that he likely won't get a senior day snap.

Hate it for Worley. Surprised and impressed they were able to keep it quiet such a long time.

Hate it for the kid. He battled like a son of a bitch this year. Much respect.
