Commit story

quote:

We all know Arkansas desperately needs linebackers and the Hogs got one this morning when Derrick Graham committed to Arkansas. He had offers from Mississippi State, Florida, Nebraska, UCF, and others, but he recently narrowed it down to the Gators, Bulldogs, and the Razorbacks. Graham officially visited Arkansas for the Northern Illinois game.

Non-commitable.

Good get though. I think we would have had a spot for him if we weren't holding out for a certain special someone.

I didn't even know it was possible to sign a LB that wasn't 6'0, 190.

Can any Florida people comment on this kid?

Also, he said this:

"This process was a humbling experience with all the trials and tribulations I've endured over the past years," Graham said in his opening statement. "I want to give thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity, as well as the ability to be sitting in this position. I also would like to thank my family for their support and prayers. Last but not least I would like to thank my teammates and Coach Martin and the support staff for welcoming me on the team, as well as giving me another chance.

Anyone know what that's all about?

Don't really know much about him. He came and camped at UF, earned an offer. Don't think he could commit yet but remember the coaches really liked his athleticism.

How do you earn an offer, but can't commit?

I don't blame these kids for flipping as much as they do when they offer they've committed to is just as likely to get shelved or dangled for something else.

Position on the board. Mainly because 3-4 guys in front haven't committed.

Maybe I'm old school but an offer should be an offer rather than conditional or contingent on other players.

It doesn't work that way with wives. I know that for sure.
